"These guys were incredible! Not only did they stain my deck with the proper product, but they replaced boards that were warped or rotten. They were reliable and traveled more than an hour to get here each day until they were finished. I would recommend them for any kind of paint job."

"Brad and his crew were professional and courteous - communication was good. The house was prepped and the paint was applied to the house well, although a couple areas of wood repair were not done as had been discussed.
The double entry doors had originally been stained wood doors which had veneer that was de-laminating in places and bubbling in others. It was a challenging task getting a good finish on the doors. It took three attempts to get a satisfactory result. I credit Brad and his crew for sticking with it and seeing the job through but feel like I could have given the job a better overall score if the right approach had been used in the first place. I also held back on the score a bit because of a lack of clean-up. I ended up picking up the larger pieces of scraped paint and calk and sweeping the concrete areas myself.
Overall I feel like I got a pretty good result for a good price.

"Did a terrific job and even added on staining deck and fence. I didn't buy the right stain to use, but they were able to use it anyway. One final piece of project was not complete (place in deck not cut out to accommodate gutter) so my deck gets dirty from the gutter run off, but other than that, the job was perfect."

"These folks do a wonderful job. They done several projects for us and we just hired them to complete another exterior painting job that will involve repairing some wood trim prior to painting. Based on past performance I expect we'll have the same top quality work as before. All of the folks we've dealt with have be super helpful, courteous, and professional. Would definitely hire them again."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

It’s often best to spray on deck sealer. Sprayers can apply sealant more quickly and evenly than rolling while still enabling you to reach tight spaces. When using a sprayer, always use a low-pressure setting at a close distance to ensure an even application. Avoid using sprayers on windy days.

Unless you’re using a 2-in-1 formula or painting over an existing coat of paint, it pays to apply a coat of primer ahead of your new paint. Decks see a lot of footfall and exposure to extreme and sudden temperature changes and moisture levels. The primer promotes better paint adhesion, moisture repellency, and a smoother finish, which means you’ll often need fewer coats of paint.

Painted decks typically require a new coat about once every ten years. In between new coats, it's best to maintain your deck by regularly removing debris, washing it down with non-abrasive cleaners, and staying ahead of structural issues, such as loose boards and rotting wood. In some cases, painting a small section of your deck affected by damage or the sun can lower your costs and workload.

Yes, you can waterproof any wood that has not already been treated. A good way to test this is to splash some water on it. If the water starts to bead up, the wood is treated and most likely doesn’t need another coating.

You’ll need to restrain your deck when you notice fading, cracking, peeling, or mold and mildew over a moderate to large area, or when it’s become especially difficult to clean. As for how often to stain a deck, plan to do it every two to three years or whenever you start to notice extended damage.
