Small jobs welcome

"Far exceeded my expectations. Took sheetrock to studs to fix, seams are invisible on couferred ceiling, interior paint perfect color match on 20 year old paint! Arrived on time, came in at estimated price, very professional, organized and clean work. I had sanding done in my house and there was no residue anywhere. Do yourself a huge favor and call him for an estimate you wont be disappointed. Forget the rest he is the best for sure."

"I would give Jesse and his crew an A+++ if I could. From the time I received an estimate until the work was completed, I was impressed with the professionalism, honesty, and attention to detail which was exhibited. Jesse noted when conducting the estimate that the protective screening behind the gable vents needed replacing as it was very old and brittle. He replaced it with a commercial product which will keep critters from seeking shelter in the attic. The prep work prior to painting was carefully executed which is vital to the paint job lasting. They power washed the house and the pergola, cleaned the roof, replaced some boards that had wood rot, and sanded many areas before hand brushing on the two coats of quality paint. Decorative iron work and some stucco were painted as well as exterior doors. Once they finished the work, the areas around the house were policed by Jesse to be certain that the work was completed to my satisfaction and that the yard was left clean. The end result is beautiful and will last for many years."

Customers say: Terrific value

"Pro Painters (Ed Mesa and his son Matthew) provided Top Tier service completing a refresh of our homes exterior trim and repairing and staining our fence; great price and excellent service. I’ve already scheduled additional projects with them and highly recommend others doing business with them."

"Our kitchen island looks great! We had the kneewall tiled in a white marble haringbone pattern with black grout. Steve and his co-worker were timely, professional and they don't smoke. The job site was kept neat at all times. The project cost exactly what the estimate stated. The tile installation is perfect. We have already decided to work with Finishing Touches Tile for our next project. The cost below does not include materials."

"They got the job done quickly which worked great for our schedule but realized after that they were messy and left a stain on the carpet in one room. When I spoke to the supervisor about this, he denied them spilling anything and blamed it on something's else."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

Yes, you must thoroughly clean your deck before staining. If you don't, dirt, debris, grease, and mildew can get trapped between the wood and the new stain. This not only looks unsightly but also prevents the stain from penetrating the wood properly, reducing its ability to protect the deck from weather and UV rays. As a result, the stain won't last as long or look as good. Any existing mold or mildew left untreated can continue to grow beneath the new stain, potentially leading to wood rot and structural damage. Always wait at least 48 hours after cleaning for the wood to dry completely before applying stain.

Limewash and whitewash are two techniques used to give brick a light, matte finish, but they differ in composition, application, and permanence. The best choice depends on your aesthetic goals and the specific surface.

Composition

  • Limewash: A natural and environmentally friendly option made from limestone, water, and sometimes pigments. It is breathable and soaks into porous surfaces like brick.

  • Whitewash: Traditionally made from lime, water, chalk, and binders, but a similar look can be achieved with watered-down white paint. It is paint-based and sits on top of the surface.

Appearance and Finish

  • Limewash: Provides a natural, textured appearance that allows the brick's character to show through. It offers a more traditional finish.

  • Whitewash: Creates a softer, more opaque finish, often used for a rustic or shabby-chic style.

Application and Permanence

  • Limewash: Is semi-permanent and can be removed, making it a good choice if you might want to change the look in the future. It requires more skill to apply and cannot be used on previously painted brick.

  • Whitewash: Is a more permanent solution. It is more forgiving to apply and can be used on painted brick. However, because it sits on the surface, it can trap moisture.

Ultimately, if you want a breathable, natural, and reversible finish for unpainted brick, limewash is a great option. If you need a more permanent, opaque coating that can be applied over painted surfaces, whitewash is the better choice. Whitewashing may also be more economical, costing approximately $1.40 to $4.20 per square foot.

Pricing depends on prep work, paint/stain choice, area size, scaffolding needs, and detailed trim inclusions like precision-balanced windowsills.

No, it is not okay to paint over rotted wood. Painting over rotted wood will not address the underlying issue and can trap moisture, leading to further decay. Properly addressing the rotted wood by removing and replacing or repairing the damaged areas is necessary before you can even consider painting.

The longevity of paint on wood depends on factors like the quality of the paint, surface preparation, exposure to elements, and maintenance. Exterior paint on wood surfaces can last 5 to 15 years or more with proper care and maintenance. Interior paint tends to have a longer life span, often 10 years or more. Regular cleaning, touch-ups, and addressing any issues like peeling or cracking can extend the life of the paint.
