"Dani is one of the best contractors I have utilized. He is knowledgeable in the vast area of electrical, lighting and other electronic products. He installed several digital video and lighting equipment throughout our home. In addition, upgrading light fixtures and outdated electrical wall plugs. What I appreciated the most is he took to the time to educate me on the solutions and repairs he provided. If your looking for a professional and electrician I recommend DC Electrical Services! Would definitely used again in the future!"

"The work never happened. The contractor Aaron, provided me with a quote of over $1600.00 for a routine electrical job that involved trenching to bury a power line. I provided all of the materials, and this was a 4 hour labor job at the maximum. The quote was clearly outrageous. But, it was a holiday and I was willing to pay a premium. Mr. Electric dropped their price from over $1600.00 to $900.00, but at that point I felt the job was still overpriced. The contractor Aaron was very nice, but clearly bothered by the pricing he was forced to charge people. I felt that he was caught in the middle, it was just an unfortunate situation. All in all, I would use them again for simple problems, but just not complex jobs.

"I had an electrical outlet installed on my brick fireplace so I could hang my TV up. I was quoted from another company $600 and would have the outlet box exposed from the brick. I used Enoch and it done for $150. Plug looks great! I'll use Enoch anytime I need electric work done."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

In Austin, simple electrical tasks such as installing new outlets or fixtures typically finish within a day, while more complex work like panel upgrades or whole-home rewiring may require several days. Scheduling inspections and obtaining permits can add time, especially during peak construction periods. Working with experienced electrical professionals helps anticipate potential delays and keeps your project moving smoothly.

Helpful?

For Austin’s climate, select wiring rated for high heat and humidity, such as THHN/THWN-2, and use weather-resistant electrical panels for outdoor installations. Install GFCI and AFCI protection where local codes require, and consider whole-house surge protectors to guard against power surges. Choosing LED lighting and smart home-compatible devices ensures your electrical upgrades are efficient and reliable in Austin’s environment.

Helpful?

In Austin, regular maintenance is key for electrical safety and efficiency. Test GFCI outlets monthly, check surge protectors and panels for wear each season, and clear outdoor fixtures of pollen and debris, especially after storms. Schedule annual inspections with licensed electrical professionals to catch potential issues early. Staying proactive helps your home’s electrical system withstand Austin’s weather and seasonal challenges.

Helpful?

In Austin, be cautious of electrical contractors who provide estimates without inspecting your home wiring or who avoid discussing required permits. Watch for incomplete project details, requests for large upfront payments, or a lack of proof of insurance. Prioritize professionals who clearly outline materials, timelines, and safety measures, ensuring your electrical upgrades meet Austin’s standards and protect your investment from future issues.

Helpful?

Coordinating electrical upgrades with projects like HVAC, kitchen remodels, or solar installations in Austin can streamline scheduling and reduce disruptions. By planning together, you can minimize permit applications, optimize inspection timing, and ensure all systems are compatible with local energy requirements. This approach also helps you prepare your home for Austin’s climate and may qualify you for seasonal efficiency incentives.
