"The entire move went smoothly. The moving guys were actually early. Which was much appreciated. They loaded everything in an hour. They arrived on time to the moving destination. The guys were very nice. Very professional. I would recommend Chapperal again. They were excellent movers."

"All Service Moving was exceptional. Great customer service - easy to schedule and flexible. Royce & Frost did an AMAZING job moving all of our very heavy and fragile belongings. They handled all of our requests and items with care and worked both efficiently and quickly. They were super friendly and very customer service oriented. I can't thank them enough for the GREAT job they did. I highly recommend All Service Moving for anything moving and/or storage related. And DEFINITELY request Royce & Frost to handle your job. Thank You!"

Small jobs welcome

"Don't even look at another moving company for your move. I used a different company and they were a disaster! 1. They hired two men who had never moved before. That was immediately obvious to me. These guys took so long to move (by the hour of course) and I only got half our items moved. 2. They ruined my one-of-a- kind table with scratches all over. It was a very small table easy to move and now looks like sh*t! I finally reached out to Advantage Austin Movers, I had used them before but forgot their name. Once we reconnected it all went like clockwork! Very pleased with the guys who showed up, and they did a terrific job in the time estimated. Do not be fooled by companies that hire people off the streets, with zero experience, who rack up the hours and get nothing done and wreck your prized possessions."

"Two movers came and did a great job moving my mom's furniture. They were very friendly and professional. Only reason I left 4 star was that one of the movers was having a hard time due to bilateral knee pain and that put a lot of responsibility and increased the time it took to move."

"Vicente and his crew did a great job moving us twice. Both were locals moves. I will also hire them for any future moving needs. They're punctual, responsive to my requests, and they handled items with care so that nothing was broken. Fair prices, too. Definitely a local business worth hiring. I recommend them!"

"We had a great experience with NorthStar Moving Company when we moved from Los Angeles to another city 90 miles away. Due to the COVID-19 situation, we got our estimate via a video call (which was our request). I was satisfied that we were getting a good price with a professional company. I had many calls with Ron prior to the call to discuss the details of the upcoming move and he was always very honest and fair with me. On the morning of the move, the 4 man team arrived on time, and they all wore masks which we had requested. The team leader, Emmanuel, was so accommodating and polite. All the guys worked hard and were very careful with our things. We really appreciated their efforts and the fact that none of our belongings were damaged in the move. In the end, we were so happy that we had hired this company. Highly recommend!"

Moving questions, answered by experts

When hiring moving companies in Austin, prioritize teams with experience navigating local neighborhoods, narrow streets, and apartment complexes. Ask about insurance coverage for your belongings and confirm their availability during busy periods like university move-ins. Look for moving services that offer digital tracking and flexible scheduling, and always request a clear, written estimate to avoid surprises on moving day.

Helpful?

Moving in Austin requires extra care to protect belongings from humidity and heat—use climate-controlled moving trucks for electronics and artwork. Wrap wood furniture to prevent moisture damage, and clean items thoroughly after spring storms or during cedar pollen season. If your new home is near Lake Austin or in hilly neighborhoods, plan for ramps or dollies to safely manage stairs and uneven terrain.

Helpful?

Your Austin home is well-suited for moving if there’s easy truck access, available parking, and no major obstacles like steep driveways or tight staircases. Check for HOA moving restrictions and confirm that utilities can be transferred smoothly. Homes with wide doorways and clear paths make moving furniture easier, while planning around local events or extreme heat helps ensure a smoother moving experience.

Helpful?

In Austin, moving services include full-service moving companies, local movers familiar with student housing and downtown apartments, and specialists for handling music equipment or antiques. You’ll also find labor-only teams for loading and unloading, as well as moving container services for flexible scheduling. White glove movers are available for luxury homes, offering tailored care for high-value items and unique Austin properties.

Helpful?

Before starting a moving project in Austin, review local parking rules and secure permits for moving trucks, especially in busy neighborhoods. Notify your HOA about your move if required, and arrange for utility transfers at least two weeks ahead. Consider Austin’s frequent festivals and rush-hour traffic when scheduling. Moving early in the day helps avoid heat, and checking weather forecasts can help you sidestep sudden storms.
