"Jodi and her team were great to work with and I would highly recommend them. They did a full overhaul of our landscaping after the Feb 2021 freeze and some terracing on a slope in our backyard. Jodi had great recommendations for plants and trees that are hardy and easy to care for. You can tell she has a passion for landscaping and is very knowledgeable."

Customers say: Quality work

"After checking out our back yard fence, Mason emailed an estimate within a couple of days.  His price was better than a couple of other companies.  It was another 4 weeks before they could get to it, but it was worth the wait.  They replaced 4 rotting posts with treated pine, and put up 56 ft. of 6 ft. high  x 6-inch western red cedar pickets with treated pine 2 x 4 rails.  They used weather coated screws rather than nails.  The guys did a really nice job and finished the job in one day.  Mason and his guys were easy to deal with, and Mason gave me a follow up call a couple of days after the job was done."

Small jobs welcome

"Leo is great to work with. He actually listens to what you have to say concerning your project and will offer ideas he may have. He will not give you the runaround or try and sell you on something else. His prices are extremely fair, letting you know the price of the sod. His crew has lots of experience, they work quickly and treat you with respect. Leo also has other trades that he offers, to which I will be hiring him again to do some future concrete work. As a customer be aware that Leo is also at the mercy of the companies that provide sod (weather dependent) but he will inform you if work will be delayed. Highly recommend Perez Landscaping."

"QUALITY QUALITY QUALITY! There’s so much I want to say about this company. Manuel came out for the estimate and I was a little hesitant because I’d had some other work done through home advisor that looked good at first but a year later became more of a mess than anything. He was so professional. He emailed my quote to me that evening, ON LETTERHEAD, with every single detail of the job. I was immediately impressed. His crew came out and started the job; really nice, professional and respectful guys (thinking back I feel bad for not offering water...or something....I didn’t think of it). Manuel estimated four days but it only took three. I was worried about my German Shepherd dogs digging up the turf and Manuel explained the whole process about how he’d use wood two by fours to staple the turf so they could not dig it up. Every edge and every seam is secured. It looks so fantastic that I asked for an estimate to do my front yard. I’m over the top, pleased with how this turf came out. Thank you Manuel and team for doing your absolute best in my yard. It looks great!! It was so worth the hassle of getting through several estimates to find this company. I’m more than impressed now. This job turned out phenomenal and was an easy experience."

Landscaping questions, answered by experts

The best time to plant a privet hedge is autumn, ideally October or early November. Fall is the best time to plant privet hedges because young plants need plenty of water to jump-start their growth, and it typically rains more during this season. However, you can also successfully plant privets in the spring.

Other projects that you can do at the same time as your trellis include painting the deck , installing a pergola, or adding mulch to your garden beds.

The best place to plant a rose bush is where it will be happiest. Growing roses is difficult if the location varies much from what the plants like. Choose a location that gets at least six hours of direct sunlight during the growing season but not much more than that in hot-climate locations. If such a spot doesn't exist in your yard, consider planting your rose in a movable container to take advantage of portability.

Buying plants from a nursery is one thing, but ensuring that they are properly planted is another. While you might not need to hire a landscaper for every plant that you buy from a nursery, it’s a great idea to have their expertise and experience to plant larger items, like burlapped trees or specialty plants like rose bushes. Even better, before making a trip to a nursery to buy new plants, consult a local landscaper to test your soil for pH levels, soil texture, and phosphorus and potassium levels to help determine the best plants for your area.

The condition and appearance of your yard can affect your home appraisal value. A well-maintained, attractive yard with curb appeal adds to a property’s value, while an overgrown, messy, poorly maintained yard can hurt your home’s appraisal. Even small cosmetic improvements to your yard, like adding mulch, trimming trees, and cleaning out plant beds, can help your appraisal value.
