"Great experience! They did a great job repairing my ceiling and were very professional. They protected the floor and other parts of the house using plastic and cleaned up after the job was done. I would recommend them without hesitation!"

"Francisco and his crew showed up promptly at 8 AM on the first day and the following days of the project. They were polite, worked hard and were careful to clean up after themselves while working inside my house. The drywall work, wood paneling and some carpentry was nicely done plus a few extras projects. They cleaned up and removed all the construction trash at the end of the job."

Small jobs welcome

"An actual employee of the company answered my phone call every time I called them. The crew showed up exactly when they were supposed to. Zack and Yancy kept me up to date every step of the way and were very professional and kind. They were so clear in explaining what was going on, I never had to ask any questions. The work was done quickly and properly. They cleaned all the mess up. I am pretty sure my floor was cleaner after they left than before they got there."

"After submitting my drywall & painting project needs to Homeadvisor, I was contacted by several contractors who expressed eagerness to submit an estimate. I scheduled appointments with 3 contractors. Only one showed up: A+ Maintenance. I was impressed with Austin's professionalism. I accepted his estimate. The project was completed in a timely manner and I was satisfied with the quality of the work. I will use A+ Maintenance for future drywall and painting projects."

Drywall questions, answered by experts

Through expert matching of texture and paint for an invisible repair.

Wet-sanding and dry-sanding each have pros and cons. Dry-sanding is less messy, so it’s a good option if you’re trying to minimize dust (for example, if you’re sanding an occupied home or working with particularly dry or dusty drywall mud). However, dry-sanding is quicker because you don’t have to keep rinsing a sponge or wait for it to dry before painting.

When doing a DIY paint job, it can be tricky to achieve the perfect, straight line between your wall and ceiling. There are several methods, including lining it with painter’s tape and using the “cut in” brush tactic. Some homeowners choose to apply a thin line of caulk to the wall-ceiling seam to create the appearance of a perfect line.

Popular wall textures include orange peel, knockdown, spray sand, and smooth finishes. Orange peel and knockdown are particularly common choices for drywall as they are simple and cost-effective. Orange peel texture has a lightly bumpy surface resembling the skin of an orange, while knockdown (sometimes called knockout) looks like a stucco finish with flattened high spots. In contrast, popcorn texture has fallen out of fashion, partly due to its past association with asbestos and a shift toward more restrained interior design styles.

Drywall insulation costs around $1,800, on average, but prices can range from $500 to $4,500, depending on a few different factors. The following things are important considerations to make when pricing out your insulation project:

  • Square footage of insulation

  • Type of insulation

  • Climate in your area and the insulation R-value required

  • Whether or not your walls are already finished

  • Accessibility of the area

  • Whether or not you need old insulation removed first
