Customers say: True professional

"This is the go to tree service company in our area in my estimation, the ower & his two man crew did an outstanding job removing a dead 60 yr old Maple , the professionalism combined with their friendly personalities made me a retired senior very comfortable, the pricing is very fair & their attention to detail is excellent, they also went out of their way for full clean-up also stacking wood for me to use later , I have had experience with other tree services in the past but none impressed me like J&T tree service.....also want to give a shout-out to the tree climber who showed excellent knowledge of the job & the skill to do it right."

"I was contacted and given an estimate for two trees on a Thursday afternoon. The crew began work on Monday and finished mid day Tuesday. The trees were cut down and completely removed during my work day. I didn’t have to see or hear anything, left one day with trees, came home to a different yard! Great work! Will hire again!"

"I am very happy with the service Wesley and all the people I was in contact with have provided. From the first phone call to the end of the project these people were great. They removed a huge maple tree that died from my yard. They are easy to reach, very responsive, careful not to damage anything, cleaned up the job site completely, very reasonable with the price that is very low and very friendly and respectful in all interactions. They completed this job on June 12, 2026. I will always hire them for any tree service, yard cleanup, outdoor plumbing or fence replacement projects. I highly recommend them to my friends."

"The service was excellent from the first phone call forward. He did EVERYTHING he said he was going to do, on time and with a smile. I talked with other services and they were either somewhat rude or evasive, but Nate was friendly, timely, and his prices were GREAT !!!! Do yourself a favor.....if you need this type of work done, just call Precision Tree Service. You'll be much happier and a lot better off than wasting time getting the run around or a higher quote from some other tree service."

"Hired "His Handiworks" for 7 trees to remove. Three were close to power lines. Three were very large trees and two of the large trees were up against the house. The workers were skilled, hardworking, and very polite. Weather kept delaying the project, but the company clearly communicated their plans and prioritized my house. I am very happy with their service and am using them again for stump removal."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Dutch elm disease can’t harm humans. In fact, according to Cal Fire, bark beetles aren’t even typically dangerous to trees unless that tree is already weakened. The problem comes when Dutch elm disease kills a tree. That tree is more at risk of falling and catching fire, which can pose a serious threat.

Tree experts don’t advise against digging through tree roots, but instead encourage caution and consultation with a local arborist to make sure you don’t damage the tree’s structure or interrupt its water or nutrient intake. An arborist can recommend specific practices when digging and help prune the roots or dig a trench for utilities with a tool that can remove soil without touching the tree’s roots.

No. Topping a tree refers to severely cutting down all its major branches and tree in a straight line. It was once recommended for streetside deciduous trees but has fallen out of practice. Topping leads to many problems, removing so much of the tree that many trees struggle to survive and become much more vulnerable to insects and diseases. Also, it doesn’t really help tree growth as once assumed and often leads to an ugly appearance of many sprouting stems in competition to become new main branches.

You can use a chainsaw, but it won’t remove the entire stump or root ball and is not a recommended method. It takes quite a bit of physical work to achieve and will likely dull or ruin your chainsaw. Instead, consider using salt, herbicide, light deprivation, boiling water, stump grinding, or burning to kill a tree stump. These methods allow you to kill a stump using minimal machinery and physical exertion.

Absolutely. These steps are significantly easier, too, especially when it comes to preserving the root ball and moving the palm tree. However, you will want to make sure the tree has plenty of fertilizer to establish itself and start growing. Supports may also be more important, as it can take extra time for a potted palm to spread out its roots. If you are transferring a palm to another pot, you’ll want to move up a size or two to a larger pot. Make sure the pot has excellent drainage to keep the palm from getting waterlogged.
