"They make life easy and projects exceptional. Grateful to have them in Lexington, SC! We worked with Palmetto Renovations from fall of 2023 through February of this year and we should have connected with their design specialty showroom and staff years ago as our home has never looked better. Our kitchen finally features real stone quartzite with a blend of stunning LVP waterproof flooring, elegant tiled backsplash and an entirely new lighting system from chandeliers to the under cabinet lighting. They replaced a window in the bay area to match the exterior clad. All trim was stained and by the time things were wrapped up, there were no imperfections to even address. It was an experience to brag about."

"Sentri Homes provided the most professional flooring service I’ve ever had. The LVP installation turned out absolutely beautiful, and I was amazed at how quickly everything was completed without sacrificing quality. The crew was fast, accurate, and extremely detail-oriented from start to finish. Everything was installed cleanly, precisely, and with real craftsmanship. The entire process was smooth, efficient, and far beyond what I expected. I would absolutely recommend Sentri Homes to anyone needing flooring installed."

"Choice Home Builders LLC (Mack Brazell and associates) was the general contractor for a repair job at our mother’s home in Northeast Columbia. If you want an honest, reliable and reasonable contractor – call Mack Brazell. The scope of the project was to repair a roof/siding leak; and install new wall/ceiling sheetrock and flooring where leak damage had occurred. After contacting several others, Mack is the only one who told us he COULD do it and WOULD do it! 1. Quality of work performed. The quality of work done was superior. Throughout the project, we were impressed with Mack’s commitment to generating a top-quality product. He really cared about doing the job right! He identified the problem and worked quickly to stop a long-term roof leak right before Hurricane Florence hit SC. Repairs to the roof, ceilings and walls was perfect. Mack and associates were extremely professional, courteous, and respectful of our mother’s home and her availability. 2. Integrity and professionalism. Kept his word, kept us informed, was trustworthy and dependable. These attributes were greatly appreciated – especially in today’s world of shoddy repairmen. He always called before he showed up to inform us when he was coming. 3. Value. Choice Home Builders provided great work at a reasonable price. Mack went above and beyond what he quoted us…..we were pleasantly surprised at the amount we actually paid. In summary, Mack Brazell is reliable and trustworthy builder who can repair or construct any type of residential building. Possesses a great personality and work ethic, easy to work with, and very respectful of the customer and environment. We can’t say enough about how pleased we are with Choice Home Builders LLC."

"Our original builder vented our dryer outside with 2 back to back 45 degree angle bends in the exhaust pipe in the wall. It took our dryer 2 or more complete 70 minute dryer cycles to dry a load of clothes. The dryer was over heating, the cord was getting hot and we were definitely afraid of a house fire. We called Sears the dryer manufacturer 5 times to fix the situation but they insisted it was because the dryer exhaust was incorrectly vented. Christian came out and looked at the issue and it took him around an hour the first time to unclog the built up lint which had hardened to almost a solid blockage. He literally had to drill through the clogs to brake them up enough to where they could be pulled out. How grateful I was to have had such and honest reliable person come to repair this issue. They finally had to cut a large hole in the wall to correct the way in which the pipes were run. When he was finished my dryer is now sitting against the wall where it should have been to start with and not sitting 2 feet out from the wall in the middle of the floor. I can't say enough good things about Christian and Mike who both were VERY professional, courteous and actually cared that I was totally satisfied with their work. What a new concept contractors that actually care about the work they do and that the customer is satisfied. I will definitely use them whenever I have a need for anything they can do. I would recommend them to anyone looking for an HONEST contractor and one that really cares about the work he does and doesn't try to pad the bill for their own pockets but rather and honest pay for a job well done. Can't say enough good things about these guys. Definitely put them in your call list of who to call when something goes wrong. I'm sure you will never be sorry you did. A++++++ all the way!. Also as a side note, they refused payment until I was completely satisfied with the job!!!"

"I worked with Apex Construction for both the design and construction of my renovations project. We converted our pole building into a mother-in-law suite. It turned out even better than I expected. It can be difficult finding people whose quality and integrity you can trust at a fair price. I will definitely use Apex again and again."

"The job went as it should do when you hire a professional contractor. I got MD Masonry's quote within several days of request and the cost was competitive with other quotes received. I had their certificate of Insurance almost instantly and found them to be fully licensed to do the work. The work began on the scheduled day and progressed quickly. Danielle went out of her way to locate a particular and hard-to-find gravel for our planting bed behind the wall. She also suggested and implemented an additional retaining wall around a favorite tree to make use of the few leftover wall blocks and caps that we had supplied. We're looking forward to having MD Masonry back to help us with some brick and sidewalk repairs. The job cost in excess of $10,000. Danielle and her crew delivered above and beyond expectations. You won't go wrong with MD Masonry doing your project."

One starting point to find a local home builder is to collect suggestions from friends and neighbors. However, it’s still wise to do some more research before you hire a builder. Read reviews to supplement any word-of-mouth recommendations. Check sources like Angi that have standards and criteria in place to screen the pros it lists can also help you find more reputable local home builders.
Typically, it’s more affordable to buy an existing home than it is to build a new one. New construction loan interest rates tend to be higher than interest rates for traditional mortgages. Additionally, the cost of materials is likely higher when building a new home than it was when an existing home was built (unless it’s a very new one). You’re also paying for all new appliances, finishes, permits, inspections, and connections for water, gas, and electricity.
The average price per square foot to build a house is about $150 per square foot. Overall, the cost to build a house ranges anywhere from $100 to $500 per square foot, depending on where you build. The primary cost factors include location, size, and style of house you build.

Additional cost factors include any plumbing, electrical wiring, and insulation. If you need to build a concrete foundation for a new detached garage, you can expect to pay $1,000 to $8,600 for this essential addition.
The average cost to remodel a garage is around $18,000, ranging from $1,500 to $50,000, depending on size, materials, location, and other factors like plumbing and electrical. Garage remodels that include changing the roof and walls add significant expenses to the project. Plus, you can expect to pay about $1,400 for the building conversion permits. For a simple remodel, like painting interior walls and recoating the garage floor, it will cost about $2 to $5 per square foot.
