"As always, Alex was on time. He measured and inspected the entire crawlspace of my home, and gave me an estimate. The work was performed professionally and with attention to detail. The job was finished ahead of schedule, and I couldn't be more pleased. Alex is always courteous and he cleans up after the job is finished. Best handyman I've ever hired!"

"Handyman Bob and his team were amazing! Very friendly and respectful. The work Bob and his team did is amazing I hired them to redo my bathroom that turned into redoing my laundry room and then he put up my back deck and front porch could not be happier with the work they have done. The prices he gave me I could not find anywhere else so affordable. If I could give them 10 stars I would. I will definitely be calling them back for more jobs I need done."

"I was very pleased with the supervision of the Project Manager. He met me on-site to answer questions and made recommendations based on what I needed. He was on-site during the removal and installation process making several trips to secure insulation and plywood decking which they found missing on the structure once the existing roof was removed. Tom stayed in touch with me via text, phone or in person throughout the process. The owner came out on the final day to inspect the work and meet with me. He was also present during the actual work. I was also pleased that the crew was polite and efficient with their work and clean-up. I received my warranty in the mail the following week."

"I worked with Apex Construction for both the design and construction of my renovations project. We converted our pole building into a mother-in-law suite. It turned out even better than I expected. It can be difficult finding people whose quality and integrity you can trust at a fair price. I will definitely use Apex again and again."

Pole Barn Builders questions, answered by experts

Yes, barndominiums are energy-efficient as long as insulation professionals properly install quality insulation, windows, and doors. Utility bills for barndo living can be up to 50% lower than those for a traditional home.  Make your barndo more energy efficient by working with contractors and HVAC professionals to strategically place windows, doors, and heating/cooling systems.

Yes, barn doors can be too heavy, although the limitation is usually imposed by the mounting hardware you buy and not your home’s framing, unless you’re building an unusually wide door. To keep the weight down, you can opt for 1-by material rather than 2-by material, and choose a softwood like pine rather than a hardwood like maple or oak. Check the weight limits on your mounting hardware, and always attach your door track to studs rather than to drywall anchors.

The difference between a pole barn and a stick-built barn is in the construction. Large poles in the ground provide support for pole barns. For stick-built barns, 2-by-4 or 2-by-6 lumber (known as sticks) create a frame around load-bearing beams. Stick-built construction is far more popular for residential homes. Pole barns are more cost-effective because they require fewer materials and less labor.

It’s much less expensive to build a house with wood. This is because wood is relatively inexpensive, strong enough to endure decades or even centuries of weathering and pressure, and is easier to replace if there are issues. The cost of stone houses are incredibly expensive, heavy, time-consuming to build, and difficult to repair.

Tiny houses, often called tiny homes, need between 100 to 400 square feet, with the most common size being between 200 and 300 square feet. Tiny houses more than 400 square feet venture into apartment-size dwellings and may be considered more of a traditional house than a tiny home. The number of occupants, desired lifestyle, and furniture will all be major factors that determine the desired tiny house size.
