Not only that, he had noticed on the day of the estimate that my water line to the fridge was leaking and that both my dishwasher and aforementioned water line did not have up to date shut off valves which could delay installation (again!) of my new appliances. "Workmanship (Billy Pearsall) was excellent and done quickly; very courteous and professional. However based on various options quoted and online prices for the same heater model, it seems that the premium for same-day service and 6 yr warranty on the labor and miscellaneous parts was over $500! If I were to do it over again, I think I could have survived a week without hot water and would have ordered my own heater. As it was, the labor (and overhead?) would calculate out to ca. $300/hr."
