"I called several places including those promising 24/7 service and Mattioni was the only one who could come out the same day.  It was raining outside and we had no water so it was a bad day all around.  The tech was very knowledgeable and quickly diagnosed the bad pump.  He replaces the pump and all the piping/cabling. They have a huge binder with all the pricing in it.  You can get a discount if you join their "club" for $100.  I did and it still saved me a few hundred.  They came out for a complimentary whole house inspection and found another $1,000 worth of questionable work to do for inflated prices.  They seem very good, but they are very expensive. I had to choice or time to shop around at the time.

He did a great job at a very reasonable price. I was so pleased with his work that we asked him to do several other jobs after that. However based on various options quoted and online prices for the same heater model, it seems that the premium for same-day service and 6 yr warranty on the labor and miscellaneous parts was over $500! If I were to do it over again, I think I could have survived a week without hot water and would have ordered my own heater. As it was, the labor (and overhead?) would calculate out to ca. $300/hr."
