"Great guys, knowledgeable, proficient and reasonably-priced. I would call them in an instant to do more work if needed. I met the owner of this business several years ago when he was just starting out & they have built the business into a great company. They do outdoor work - roofs, doors, windows and siding. First, we had a door replaced in the basement. They have a great network of other businesses, and referred us for other work & painting. We had our roof replaced, some fascia installed on the porch & supports on the porch roof wrapped in February 2020. The crew arrived right on time and finished the work very quickly."

Many modern homes have soffits, but older ones don’t, and you may be wondering why. Traditionally, you place a layer of ⅜-inch foam board beneath aluminum siding. This gives you a smooth surface to which you can fasten the trim and siding. Beneath the foam board, you should have some kind of waterproof sheathing to further protect your home from water damage. It’s possible this sheathing is already under your current siding.

You may only need to repaint fiber cement siding every decade or so, but you should clean it every six to 12 months, depending on your local climate. First, wash with a garden hose or similar low-pressure device (not a high-pressure washer, which can damage the material) to remove dirt and any large debris. Then, gently wipe down the surface with a soft brush or cloth in a side-to-side motion, following the grain of the fiber cement.

While any dark color of vinyl is likely to fade, dark red and dark brown vinyl tend to fade faster and more noticeably compared with other dark colors. White is the color least likely to fade, but it will show stains, mildew, and dirt more prominently than darker colors.
