"The system is working great and appears to be just what we needed. It's new, so I can't really determine how it will preform long term - but comes highly recommended.
We have nothing but good things to say about the responsiveness and professionalism of everyone we dealt with a Shiloh (i.e. the customer service person on the phone when you call, Misti, The owner of Shiloh, Mike, the salesman, Nathan and the installer, Judah).
Two recommendations I would make.
1.  If you agree on a system - request it in writing.  The system we had installed is the top of the line system - but we had agreed upon a mid tier system to save $$.  Shiloh made it right with us and charged us the agreed upon price - but it would have been easier for them, and us, to have the system we agreed upon.  In the long run, the system installed will be a better product as it has a longer warranty and a few more bells and whistles.
2.  If you have  new construction - have the installer come out and assess the place where it will go.  Nathan, the salesman is great and I am sure there is no one on the planet more passionate about the Kinetico system than Nathan.   However, our house was not quite finished and the tile was already installed and Nathan was a bit perplexed about where and how the system would be installed in our home.  The owner of Shiloh (Mike) actually came out and took a look and made the final determination. The install went perfectly and was super easy and efficient.
Judah gave a thorough demonstration after install and answered all of our questions.  2 days after install - Nathan came out and flushed the drinking water system for us and tested the water again.   Very very professional and would really recommend Shiloh.

"James redid our tub/shower in July 2022. He was fabulous to work with. Best contractor we ever had. Timely with his work and the subs needed. He kept us well informed during the few weeks of remodeling. Highly recommend him. Great job James. We love our remodel. We will certainly hire him back for any future projects we may need."

Affordable Plumbers questions, answered by experts

Eugene’s wet winters can delay outdoor plumbing and increase the risk of frozen pipes, while dry summers are ideal for major projects like sewer line replacement or pipe repair. High humidity makes proper bathroom ventilation and mold prevention essential. The area’s clay soil expands and contracts with moisture, affecting underground pipes, so seasonal planning—like winterizing pipes in the fall—helps keep your plumbing in top shape.

Helpful?

In Eugene, plumbing projects often reveal hidden costs like permit fees, mandatory code upgrades, or the need for seismic strapping on water heaters. Older homes may require pipe repair or sewer line replacement due to root intrusion from local trees. Wet winters can lead to extra excavation challenges, and clay-heavy soil may require additional root removal or drainage work, especially during bathroom or kitchen remodels.

Helpful?

The success of plumbing work in Eugene depends on using materials like PEX piping, which resists corrosion from soft water, and ensuring pipes are insulated against occasional freezes. Proper sewer line bedding and root barriers help protect against shifting clay soil and tree roots. Quality installation, compliance with local seismic codes, and regular pipe inspections all contribute to long-lasting results in Eugene’s unique environment.

Helpful?

In Eugene, signs like persistent low water pressure, rust-colored water, or damp spots near sinks usually indicate plumbing issues. If you notice slow drains or sewer odors, this often points to root intrusion in sewer lines. However, general basement moisture or wall cracks may signal foundation or drainage concerns instead. When in doubt, a local plumbing professional can help diagnose the problem accurately.

Helpful?

Combining plumbing with other upgrades in Eugene is a smart way to minimize disruption and maximize efficiency. For example, if you’re planning a kitchen remodel, updating plumbing lines alongside electrical or insulation work can prevent repeated wall repairs. Whole-house repiping is often paired with foundation repairs or energy efficiency upgrades, like adding insulation, to streamline the process and reduce the impact on your home.
