"I was totally happy with their work. They went beyond my expectations. They even checked the sewer line to see if it was in good shape. That also went under the house to replace a small section of galvanized drain pipe with a plastic pipe. Our kitchen drain is draining great. It turns out that the vent in the drain was plugged. We would recommend them to anyone. Joanne Tomlinson"

"Plumber did a good job, but took almost 4 hours to connect 6 small pieces of plastic pipe. Then used a restrictive pipe for an air gap and water flowed all over everything. The original air gap utilized a 7/8" rubber hose, which was already connected and changed to something that would not work. There was no replacing anything, as all the old plumbing was eliminated and just required new plastic pipe. The time for this job was outrageous for a job that was an hour max and the price? well...785 dollars for this? Never again will we use D and F, this price is outrageous for such a small job....."

"Let me tell you that Bluefrog completed a wonderful job. I needed a new hot water heater. Within minutes from when I called for a referral, they reached out and called me, scheduled to come out to provide a good estimated price and came out the same day. And within a couple of days, they installed the new water heater, and they did the whole job, in just one day; also at an affordable price. I find them very competent, professional and they were able to answer all of my questions. I definitely will add them to my portfolio of vendors, and call them on a yearly basis. Thank you so much!"

"We are pleased with our new landscaping and enthusiastically recommend Artistic Landscapes! Robert and Sarah did the total design work. Excellent communication from start to finish was key for us. They responded promptly and fully to our questions in emails and phone calls during our evaluation, after contract signing and during installation. Their installation project crew was great too! They all worked hard every day, were always cheerful, even in cold, wet and windy weather in October/November. They cleaned up the job site every day when finished. We enjoyed working with the Foreman! He was just great and kept us informed of what was to be done during day and what was planned next. Ours was a large project which included absolutely everything from scratch on a bare lot on all four sides of our newly constructed house. Starting with only our suggestion for an outside living paver patio area and our privacy screening ideas, Robert and Sarah more than met these goals and then far surpassed what we initially imagined with the beauty and “livability” of their design. Then they installed it for us. We are happy about what Artistic Landscapes has created for us. Several times our neighbors and passersby have commented on how wonderful the front yard looks. One man even stopped his car in the street out front to compliment the cedar rail fence. The beautiful Japanese Maple trees planted and the LED Landscape Lighting are just two examples of some of the outstanding things we now appreciate every day. Some of the major items of this project are: • 8 zone irrigation system including automated control and a City required backflow prevention device. • 70 unique species of plants, shrubs and trees. Extensive emerald arborvitae and 10 large trees. • Aspen block retaining wall. • Extensive perimeter and French drains. • Large graveled area for parking/RV • New sod lawn, additional soil/bark dust and large decorative boulders. • Cedar rail fencing in front yard. • Concrete vent wells along house • Under deck rework & gravel • Paver patio installation • Gravel pathway with edge stone paver border • Stone planter boxes & sitting benches • LED landscape lighting system with underground wiring & automated control unit After experiencing the excellent support from Artistic Landscapes, we contracted with them for maintenance, on a weekly basis, to ensure the long-term beauty of our great new landscape."

"When Dave got done with my French drain i told him i was having trouble with my pond in the back yard. Every year I had to rebuild it, leaks, leaves and debris. I asked for a quote to replace it and decided to have Preferred do another project for me. Again very please with the design and sound of the running water. The crew was very courteous and kept me informed of what they were doing and if liked the placement of the stone. My wife is very pleased with the results and can't wait to be able to sit outside when the weather gets warmer. THANKS Preferred!"

"Our existing septic tank was only a few years old, but the associated drainfield was failing and required replacement. Due to a small lot, our options were limited; but rather than a huge and unsightly bottomless sand filter, we opted for a less obtrusive (but expensive) treatment unit and pumps along with the needed replaced drainfield. Cory was very helpful in explaining complex options and costs."

Drain Pipe Installation questions, answered by experts

It is not advisable to use drain cleaner in a washing machine. Drain cleaners contain harsh chemicals that can damage the internal components of your washer, including rubber seals, hoses, and even the drum. These chemicals can also react with any residual detergent or fabric softener, potentially leading to noxious fumes. If your washing machine is experiencing drainage issues, it's best to address the problem directly by inspecting and cleaning the lint filter, checking for clogs in the drain hose, or seeking professional repair services. Using drain cleaner in a washing machine is a risky solution that can cause more harm than good.

In some cases, operating a snake can damage your drain and pipes. This depends on the overall condition of your pipes and how gently you operate the auger. For instance, older galvanized pipes covered in zinc are susceptible to scratches when using a drain snake. Additionally, it’s common for newbies to apply too much force when extending the snake, leading to scratches and related damage. You can also crack the porcelain with an electric auger if you’re snaking a toilet drain. If you’re using a manual snake or auger, the risk is minimal.

If you've discovered a rather frightening buildup of brown and black gunk below your shower cover, you're not alone. The smelly sludge is often a collection of mildew and biofilm. Biofilm comes from the breakdown of soap scum, hair, skin cells, and bacteria that collects during shower time. It's quite common in a humid space and relatively easy to clean with a gentle DIY cleaning solution such as baking soda and vinegar.

If you leave liquid drain cleaner for too long, it will start breaking down your drainpipes. The chemicals in these cleaners can cause cracks, corrosion, and leaks in your pipes. They can also damage plumbing fixtures and even cause environmental damage if left too long without rinsing away.

Professional plumbers use many high-grade chemicals to unclog drains. Many use hydrochloric acid, known as muriatic acid, when it comes to extreme blockages.
