"Plumber did a good job, but took almost 4 hours to connect 6 small pieces of plastic pipe. Then used a restrictive pipe for an air gap and water flowed all over everything. The original air gap utilized a 7/8" rubber hose, which was already connected and changed to something that would not work. There was no replacing anything, as all the old plumbing was eliminated and just required new plastic pipe. The time for this job was outrageous for a job that was an hour max and the price? well...785 dollars for this? Never again will we use D and F, this price is outrageous for such a small job....."

We had other people out there inspecting the crawlspace, but no one except for The Crawlspace Crew had the guts to crawl the whole thing in the not so pretty parts of the crawlspace, and because of that we noticed that he had a broken pipe and leak. "Outstanding! I got bids from 4 different companies. Steve @ Preferred was on the high side, but understood the complexities of the project better than the other companies. He knew the steps that were needed to make sure we had a great lawn that would drain well & do well over time. The ground cover had huge dead patches and was weed and weed-grass infested beyond repair. It was a huge time suck to maintain, always looked half-dead and needed to be replaced. Once the ground cover was finally killed off, it had to be removed, the ground 'tilled, and the contaminated soil removed (from the chemicals used to kill the remaining ground cover). Then they had to bring in sand for draining, and a giant truckload of soil to put on top of that. Steve made great suggestions along the way, like removing the half-dead street tree, and a low bush that wasn't doing us any favors, and moving around some of the rocks in the dry creek bed, and bringing in 1 more large rock. I trusted him completely, and in the end was so glad that I did. His suggestions were spot on, and now the yard looks 2x the size, and the house looks cleaner, brighter and happier. One neighbor even asked if I painted the house! I can't thank Steve enough for helping us through this transition. It's exactly what I wanted & envisioned, and it's beautiful. Thank you!"

"We first called TerraFirma but the salesman said we could dig out the entire exterior, add a membrane, drains etc for about $24,000. When I pressed for other ideas he seemed unenthusiastic. I said I would think about it and he never contacted me again. We then tried another company who was at least amendable to other approaches and gave me a quote of $12,000 for a sump pump and interior perimeter drains. Then we called John's Waterproofing and Peter came out. Peter was awesome. He had a whole suite of things that could help out in the basement and really listened and discussed our options. We weren't going for a dead dry basement that we could finish, we just wanted to get it dry and lower the humidity. So Peter and I went through all the things and came up with a plan together. In the end we had a sump pump, perimeter drains in the basement and crawlspace, cleanspace barrier throughout the crawl and brightspace paneling on the walls of the basement to stop humidity coming in from the walls. We also had piping installed below ground outside in which to run the gutters out to the street. All of that for only $8000. Once agreed the crews came right on schedule and finished the work ahead of time. I've waited to give a review to see the system in action. For the past week it has been raining steadily. However in our basement is nothing but dry dust."
