"They were professional and courteous and worked hard to get it clean. It took longer than expected because the previous owners hadn't cleaned the ducts in a long time. But I still got a great deal with the coupon offered on Angie's list."

"I have hired Pacific Crest three times over the last few years. Once for a kitchen drain snaking, then to have my shower faucets replaced, and most recently to replace a garbage disposal. Each time they have been quick to respond and the work as been great. Nick is professional and informative. Anna always surprises me with how nice and accommodating she is, even taking phone calls well after business hours when I never expected anyone to answer and was only calling to get their hours from a machine. I highly recommend them!"

"We were very pleased with our new kitchen.  One of the main problems was the small space in the cupboards, especially the wasted space under the counters, the blind corner cabinets.  Two of my cabinets had these  blind spaces which were completely out of reach going deep under the countertops.  With my bad knees, that space was useless.   The perfect solution was the blind corner pullout, a basket-like structure that slides out in two sections, bringing out the deepest stored items. One of the cabinets could not be changed since the downdraft vent crossed it.  However, the other cabinet would be a perfect candidate except it was  too narrow to accommodate the pull-out.  Charle's solution was to remove that section of the cabinet entirely and replace it with one that has the right dimensions.  We were impressed with Chare's ability to find the good people for the work.  The replaced cabinet was an exact replica of our old cabinet. The blind corner pullout worked very well.  The wood color is lighter but after a year will match the rest of the cabinets.  The same cabinet maker made the pantry to fit in the closet,  including a double section for recyclables.  It is beautifully made and makes a world of difference for my storage space.  In addition to this, we got quartz countertops, pull out shelves, a deep new sink, a nearly soundless garbage disposal, a high pull out faucet that can be changed into a spray and a Marmoleum floor.
We are so pleased with our kitchen which looks so much better, has more space and functions with a lot greater ease.  We are very impressed with the quality of workmanship that Charles brought to the project and finding the best products.  The skilled workmen were a delight, very considerate and friendly.  His interest in getting the best results was evident, and we also appreciated his responsiveness to our calls and questions.  He takes pride in his work.  We will definitely get in touch with him for our next project.

"It’s true that the kitchen is the heart of the home, and we honestly don’t want to leave ours now that our new cabinetry is in. Unless it’s to admire the cabinets in the master bath! Peter and his team at Pacific Northwest Cabinetry helped us transform our house into the warm, welcoming home we imagined. They adapted the abstract vision we had in our heads into a space we loved the minute we saw it. We are so excited to welcome friends and family into a home that feels both beautiful and perfectly kick-off-your-shoes comfortable! It is better than we had even imagined. The end result really isn’t even the best part. The process itself was actually a lot of fun, thanks to the team of folks that make Pacific Northwest Cabinetry tick. From start to finish we were welcomed warmly, treated well, and listened to. Peter and his team went the extra step to make recommendations regarding countertop and appliance vendors and they were spot on. All questions were answered and all scenarios considered (and believe me, there were a lot of them!). Every single person we worked with, from design to installation, was truly professional and took considerable pride in their particular role. It was a real pleasure to work with these folks, and even though we won’t miss the construction dust, we will miss the people who created it. This company has a heart and it shows. We really feel that this experience is how things should always work in the world. People being honest with each other, taking ownership and pride, looking you in the eye. They sound like small things, but they are huge and Pacific Northwest Cabinetry delivers. Not to mention, those cabinets. . ."

"I needed to have a new faucet installed in the kitchen since mine was leaking for some time and also needed to have the drain under the sink replaced since I have a double sink and the water backed up when running garbage disposal David came a little earlier than scheduled which I was happy about he went right to work installing new faucet and a new pipe under the sink finished under an hour. He was very courteous and professional. I would definitely use All County again and recommend them .

Install Garbage Disposal questions, answered by experts

Your garbage disposal will only affect the health of your septic tank if you’re using it too frequently, or filling it with organic waste that doesn’t fully break down. If the tank fills up with too many solids, the bacteria won’t have enough time to consume it before more is added, which can lead to an overflow in the drain field. Your tank will need to be pumped more frequently with excessive or improper garbage disposal use.

Replacing a garbage disposal costs anywhere from $150 to $950, but the average cost is somewhere around $550. There are two types of garbage disposal units, and continuous feed disposals tend to cost more than batch feed disposals. Going for an aluminum garbage disposal is also significantly cheaper than choosing a stainless steel garbage disposal. You'll also need to factor in the horsepower of the motor, labor, and the removal and disposal of your old unit.

In some cases, it’s more cost-effective in the long run to replace a garbage disposal, but it depends on the specific issue you’re having and the age of your disposal. You should ask a garbage disposal repair tech for a quote to repair your appliance and then see if it would be more worthwhile to replace it. Additionally, garbage disposals last for around 15 years, so if you know your appliance is reaching that age, it’s likely better to pay for a new garbage disposal rather than sink money into repairs.

The main issue with garbage disposals is clogging. This can mean a clogging of the pipes that expel the food along with water, or a clogging of the mechanical parts themselves. The problem lies in the solution because you can’t easily see clogs if they’re inside the system, and reaching in to dislodge stuck items is a risky proposal. Call a pro and ask what they would do, but if you can’t see the clog easily, and running the unit won’t free it, you need to let a professional handle the fix.

While unplugging your garbage disposal and plugging it back in may help, most units have an actual reset button, a bright red switch found on the underside of your unit. If your garbage disposal needs resetting, you may notice this button sticking out about a quarter of an inch from the surface of the unit, with which it’s usually flush. Simply depress this reset button to reset the unit, and then test to ensure it’s working about 10 minutes later.
