"Pfeifer Roofing is courteous, professional and prompt. They provided a free evaluation of my roof, showed samples of the products they use and pamphlets for their policies and products. The free estimate provided various options for next steps. The installation foreman and crew itself were thorough and communicated with me multiple times during the four-day install, sharing their noticings while working and asking me for my input and preferences. They worked hard to clean up after each day, and the final result is amazing. I certainly recommend their service."

"Great! Felipe and his crew were very quick to respond to our emergency. They put in a temporary patch until they were able to redo the entire roof a few days later (as the prior roof was installed incorrectly). Felipe was easy to work with and answered every question we had. The crew worked super fast and did quality work at a reasonable price. I also liked how he guarantees his work. They cleaned up at the end very well and the roof looks great. I would recommend All Roofing Eagle to anyone and would definitely use them again."

"I bought a house that had a very neglected roof. James replaced rotted sheeting and added vents and made some suggestions that really made for a beautiful finished roof. He was prompt and friendly. I highly recommend them."

"We had a leak on a Sunday morning. Within a few hours there was a team here tarting the roof. After consulting with us (roof had tiles, had leaked before, and the age of the roof) we decided to replace the roof. The team had to replace facia boards and gutters, so it was a longer process than most. The team was cheesy with communication and our roof looks great!!"

"This is the second time we've hired Gentry Construction for projects. They're very busy and couldn't promise to finish until the end of summer, but they found a week in mid-July and finished in four days. Patio cover with a metal roof; re-roofing 60% of our house; front door rail. All top-quality work. Would definitely work with them again."

"I needed to replace a plastic roof vent that a squirrel had chewed through, allowing the squirrel to enter and exit my attic. The estimator told me over the phone before he arrived that there was a minimum charge to do the job, and I agreed to it. It wasn't excessive. He came out, took a look, and left his bid sheet. On it he wrote that I could replace all of my vents with steel for the minimum price. I thought at the time that they could have only replaced the damaged vent and I wouldn't have been the wiser, but they went the extra mile. Of course I agreed to replace them all. The job was done very quickly and efficiently. It's pretty rare these days to find a company that will do more than just what they need to. I'll certainly use All Surface in the future should the need arise."

"Very honest, Most of the roofing companies said I need to replace my roof asap, roof repaid comapnies had told me that I dont need to replace roof, but I should get my roof pressure washed. However Ramon from Spruce up was very honest, he checked my roof and said you dont need anything for next three years. His replacement quote was also lowest amongst the 4 that I got, for same shingles."

Roofing questions, answered by experts

You can replace a roof in the winter, though it’s not the most popular time to do so. The biggest drawback of winter roofing work is the weather. Snow and ice make for dangerous, slippery working conditions. Plus, shingles can only be installed in temperatures above 40 to 45 degrees.

The best time to replace a roof is in the spring or fall when the weather is mild. However, you can likely save some money by booking the job in the winter off-season, when roofers have more availability.

A gable roof costs between $13,000 and $30,000, depending on the size of your roof, the materials you use, and the type of gable roof you install. If you’re building a gable roof for new construction or as part of a major home remodel, your pricing will also depend on the type of roof trusses you use, how accessible your property is, and some other factors.

Metal roofs have a bad reputation for being loud, even if that's not necessarily true—it's usually only thin tin or sheet metal roofs that are loud during storms. Stone coating adds a layer to the metal that severely cuts down on any noise from rain. In many ways, stone-coated steel roofs are quieter than your average, run-of-the-mill asphalt shingle roof.

Yes, gable vents can let water in. That being said, this usually only occurs during extreme conditions like heavy rainfall. You can prevent water from entering through gable vents by adding a screen that traps the water before it can enter.

The most common slope range for roofs on houses in snowy areas is between 4/12 and 6/12, or 50%. A roof with a slope of less than 10%, or roughly a 2/12 pitch, won’t be effective at shedding snow. However, roofs that are too steep can allow large amounts of snow to build up and fall all at once, creating a hazard for those on the ground.
