"In our new house, there was a large (20ft by 25ft) bonus room that wasn't very useful. In early 2018, we wanted to convert it into a bedroom, a bathroom and a small study. We solicited quotes from three contractors, including Superior Building Concepts. When Stan arrived, he looked around, took some notes, asked a couple of questions, and left - the whole thing took 5-10min. We were wondering if he was really that interested in the project... but when the three quotes came in, his was in the middle, but was by far the most detailed, with everything broken up into line items. And, it was thought out better than the other two - in spite of him spending only 5-10min at the house. So, we signed up with Stan to get the work done. The work itself included framing for the new walls/doors, plumbing for the bathroom, installing tile, marble countertop, custom cabinetry, bathtub, new windows (for egress), insulation work, painting, new lighting etc. Multiple adjustments to the plan were made to accommodate our preferences - Stan was very flexible in changing the plan, gave us new adjusted quotes for everything. I've attached some pictures - two of them are of the original bonus room, and the rest are the bedroom/bathroom/study after the work was done. Overall, Stan's quiet competence, work ethic, honesty, flexibility and professionalism were incredible - this was the best contractor experience we've ever had. Since then, Stan has become our go-to general contractor for everything, and we've recommended him to family/friends ever since. (I'll write another review on the deck replacement Stan did.) We would recommend Stan for any contractor work without reservations."

"It was wonderful to work with tony. He had great ideas. He also helped me make the entire deck better, sturdier, safer and more aesthetically pleasing. Very easy to talk to and on top of his projects. The only reason for a 4.0 for value was not even tony s Fault. rather it s the fact that I wasn t extremely ready for that much of a higher premium for trex decking. I didn t feel forced to make this decision. I was presented with good options. I hope to not ever need to repair my deck but should I ever have a deck to build in the future in another home, I know who to call!"

We hired John Wood of JAW Construction to transform a building shell originally intended to be a shop for building trusses into a small house (officially an auxiliary dwelling unit or ADU) and are thrilled we found him. The job required skills that extended beyond new construction to include the insight, skill and craftsmanship of a highly experienced remodeling expert. He possessed these in spades. Beyond his own expertise, he has assembled a set of sub-contractors that are excellent craftsmen in their own areas of expertise. The job was doubly challenging given that for much of the construction period we were out of state getting our old home ready for sale. This also meant that an extra element of trust was involved. John sent us pictures of the progress, so that we could monitor from a distance. In addition, he was able to identify and rectify several flaws in our design. As with any large construction/remodeling project, there were some unexpected expenses that came up, but John worked with us to help limit cost overruns, sometimes foregoing profits. He was also always up front about the costs of the various components. Our new home is gorgeous and reflects his sharp eye for detail. We couldn’t be happier. "Aaron was very prompt, professional, efficient, and very easy to work with. He removed a protruding bench-like structure from the entire length of our retaining fence which had become a nuisance from the adjacent neighborhood park and he disposed of the wood, etc. Not only did this improve the look of the fence, no one can sit on our fence any more! Aaron also replaced a broken board in another area of our fence and repaired a leaning post. His cost was very reasonable and we will work with Aaron again on our next project. "I found R3J Residential Services through Angie’s List. Ron, the owner, was very prompt in scheduling a meeting to determine the scope of work and providing an estimate for that work - a master bathroom remodeling project. The project was comprised primarily of replacing our fiberglass shower with a tile- enclosed shower with a glass wall and door; replacing the flooring with luxury vinyl planks; replacing our built-in jetted tub with a standalone tub; replacing our double sink vanity cabinet; and replacing the toilet, mirror, and the light fixtures. His estimate was very reasonable and significantly less than an estimate we received from a design/build firm. To be fair to the design/build firm, Ron does not provide design services, but he can refer you to an interior designer he has worked with and he can also offer suggestions based on his experience in bathroom remodeling. Ron was very patient with us as we asked him a lot of questions about the remodel and design options, even before making a decision to hire him. Ron is cost conscious, but not to the point where he would use poor quality materials and products. He is willing to use more expensive materials if the client wants to spend that additional amount, but I found that the quality of the products and materials he uses to be of very high quality. After reading the reviews for R3J Residential Services on Angie’s List, which were all A’s, and meeting with Ron several times to discuss options and the finer details involved in a remodel, we decided to hire Ron to remodel our master bathroom. Ron was one of the best, if not the best, contractor we have ever had on any of our home projects. The quality of his work and professionalism is excellent. He gave us a schedule of when every major task was going to be done and he met that schedule. He was prompt in showing up at our house, cleaned up the work area every day, was very communicative as to what was going to be done and when it was going to be done, and very easy to talk to about the various aspects of the project. I also found him to be very trustworthy in our house. All of his subcontractors did excellent work. While all of the subs did excellent work, I want to mention that that the guy that tiled the shower turned our shower into a piece of art; it was that good. The quartz countertop installation was also excellent; I could not have asked for a better installation. I think the reason everything turned out so well was because Ron maintains a very high standard of work and hires subs that meet his high standard. I would hire Ron again in a heartbeat should I have any future home projects. I would strongly recommend R3J Residential Services for any home project."
