"In our new house, there was a large (20ft by 25ft) bonus room that wasn't very useful. In early 2018, we wanted to convert it into a bedroom, a bathroom and a small study. We solicited quotes from three contractors, including Superior Building Concepts. When Stan arrived, he looked around, took some notes, asked a couple of questions, and left - the whole thing took 5-10min. We were wondering if he was really that interested in the project... but when the three quotes came in, his was in the middle, but was by far the most detailed, with everything broken up into line items. And, it was thought out better than the other two - in spite of him spending only 5-10min at the house. So, we signed up with Stan to get the work done. The work itself included framing for the new walls/doors, plumbing for the bathroom, installing tile, marble countertop, custom cabinetry, bathtub, new windows (for egress), insulation work, painting, new lighting etc. Multiple adjustments to the plan were made to accommodate our preferences - Stan was very flexible in changing the plan, gave us new adjusted quotes for everything. I've attached some pictures - two of them are of the original bonus room, and the rest are the bedroom/bathroom/study after the work was done. Overall, Stan's quiet competence, work ethic, honesty, flexibility and professionalism were incredible - this was the best contractor experience we've ever had. Since then, Stan has become our go-to general contractor for everything, and we've recommended him to family/friends ever since. (I'll write another review on the deck replacement Stan did.) We would recommend Stan for any contractor work without reservations."

We already had a lot of the materials as this project started five years ago and then stopped and he did not have any problems using our materials and helping us pick out new materials. "I was very pleased with the outcome of our project to add a pocket door. Paul Marteeny approached it as I had hoped: doing his best not to destroy anything unnecessarily, re-using existing trim if it could go back in, and purchasing/installing all needed pieces. He treated the wall as if it was load bearing, even though it wasn't (better to be sure). Even though our house is not "true," Paul managed to make the adjustments needed for the frame. He provided me with good guidance to open up one side of the wall myself, allowing quick installation of the initial "slab." He gave me a brakedown of his proposal. This allowed us to agree to an amended proposal when it was clear some of the work would be different. This was a clear indicator for me that I would enjoy working with Paul Marteeny. As with all things, there were some concerns: not getting my own copy of the agreement, difficulty in getting responses through email. It was finished, though, and we are enjoying the new door!"
