"In all of the 24 years that we've lived in our home, our sump pump never kicked on. We just assumed that it was because it didn't have to because our property is on a hill, but it turns out that it was rusted solid. Also, the water pipes from the downspouts on the west side of the house to the street were clogged with soil and/or roots, and were not draining rain water underground to the street's gutter efficiently, so in a heavy downpour, the excess water was seeping through the concrete blocks of our foundation on that side of the house. Luckily, we discovered water on the floor in our basement before it got to be a major problem, and we scheduled a crew from Stay Dry Waterproofing to install a new sump pump and all new PVC pipes underground. They showed up on Monday morning as promised, and spent several hours tunneling under the mulch beds next to our house and down the hill, and then UNDER the sidewalk to the gutter. They did a good job by returning the top soil dirt back into the trench and the sod back in place. They did poke a small hole in the plastic window well cover with a shovel, but it's no big deal (we sealed it with duct tape, and big flowerpots will cover it in the summer). Joe Basham was very polite & friendly, and he and his crew did an excellent job!

"I had an odor coming from my crawl space and thought water was getting in through the foundation and call Healthy Basement Concepts. Jason was able to stop by within 24 hours and he automatically saw that my Radon Migration system was not working and he checked the breaker and determined the fan was not working and that was causing the odor. Also, when we went outside to check the radon unit, I had water lying near my foundation and he could tell that my underground drains were clogged up after checking the downspouts and the street access point. "One screw type pier installed. 2 workers hand dug hole below bottom of foundation. Cleaned out under foundation for platform. Although foundation was deeper than I thought, the hole was done much better and quicker than I envisioned. Pier was screwed at bottom of hole with a hydraulic motor. Once limit on hydraulic pressure was reached, the pier was cut at proper level, platform installed, and cracked section of foundation was raised with a hydraulic jack. Crack in stonework closed up nicely without going too far and creating additional cracks. Workers had 5 and 15 years experience doing this work. Very professional and did a very nice job every step of the way. Note that I (homeowner) chose to move and reinstall landscaping stones and gutter drain. Also, tuckpointing/repairing the cracks was not included in the quote. I plan to do that myself at a later date.

"We returned from vacation and found a large separation next to our sliding door (between the door and the brick). I had four companies come out to evaluate and the evaluations ranged from “it’s seasonal I would wait and see after the ground gets rehydrates” to it is something that needs taken care of today”.
We chose Ohio Basement Authority because their approach was based on actual information and a bit of science. I must say they were not the least expensive of the options, in fact they were the highest. However I wanted to fix the problem and not have to worry. We were informed the wall had dropped about an inch across the 25ft length. Without going into great detail, placing piers to stabilize the wall was recommended and we agreed with the solution.
The team (Bradley R. and Jacob P.) that came to do the work were knowledgeable and professional. They introduced themselves and asked if there was a problem starting early. Then they began work as soon as they could, they had to go get a smaller backhoe to fit through our gate. They kept us informed throughout the process and were respectful of the space. This is a very invasive process digging down to the bottom of the foundation. The pile of dirt was amazing as well as the trench it was extricated from, but again they attempted to keep the mess minimal (which is not possible). After completion of the pier placement they filled in the trench and leveled the massive dirt pile the best they could, we will have to wait for some settling to get a final leveling.
I would definitely recommend Ohio Basement Authority from the sales team to the installers they are geat.
