We had a turtle door installed today. The service technician ,Cody Miles, was outstanding -in knowledge, work ethic and how well the task was completed. I was very fortunate to have him as a technician. Dennis (did not get his last name) the service manager was present also and was very professional, I was lucky there also. THANKS

They left our yard dug up and a mess. The water diverted away from the basement walls was piped to the middle of our yard where it made a marsh next to the swing set as it erupted frequently. We had a difficult time getting them to come rectify the situation.

They fixed the leak and put in a sump pump and water trench. The basement leaked 2 more times afterwards, but they returned to correct it right away. We were responsible all 3 times to repair the drywall and wood landing at the bottom of the stairs,so I called saying that I should not have to keep fixing those thing over and over. The CEO of the company called back and came out to the house himself to inspect. He had his people come out to the house again to do more that he felt would fix the problem for good, as well fixing the drywall and landing at no cost. It was a frustrating experience, but this company and it's CEO stood by thier work and made it right. I would use them again.

I'll try to make this short and to the point...earlier this summer we had Basement Doctor install an egress window in our basement. Fast forward two months and our basement floor in the room the window was installed and the adjacent two rooms was covered in water. There was a pool of water at the base of the egress window so I called them back and told them that their window was leaking and asked them to fix it. They came out and said that it was their fault and they would fix it...so they put in a new drain and they wrote me a check to get the water out of the basement and to treat for mold. Fast forward another few months and the exact same thing happened! This time however they have just told me to "Please review your contract. The limited warranty is include in the contract. If you have further questions I can have the owner contact you." I have emailed them again four times over the last 7 days and have not received anything back. The company we have coming out to fix the issue now has a lifetime guarantee that it will not leak...so just beware that if you hire the basement doctor that they do not trust their work enough to guarantee that their windows will not leak. I would suggest you search elsewhere.

After doing research of companies, and isolating the problem, I decided to go with the Basement Doctor. Roger came out and was very professional and explained the process. He even helped with a cabinet that needed to be moved. The work was done the beginning of January and was done by Matt in a timely manner. Very clean and no mess. Everything was pretty much reusable such as the stud, insulation, etc. when I had someone else do the drywall repair. And after the rains this past week, my basement is dry!!!

Great, install jacks quickly and professionally - I would recommend them to anyone who needs to repair their home infrastructure - no more cracks around the doors after they did their work.

I felt that they were stalling to try to get us to leave them alone. It was weeks before the pit was finally filled in, and only after many phone calls. Since the problem was with an area we didn't even need fixed, and they left it worse off than before, it seemed only fair that they set things right.

Overall, we had a great experience. The waterproofing job was great and works perfectly. The only downsides to our job were: 1) they were suppose to seal off the things in our basement so they didn't get dusty - the seal job wasn't good though so we are still cleaning everything off as we have time weeks later. 2) they were supposed to cosmetically fix some cracks, but it looks sloppy. They just took a caulk gun to it... In our consultation, they had mentioned they would do this pretty, smooth coating thing, which was not done. 3) they did not clean up well. Our floors had dirt all over them when they left and I had to sweep/mop myself. While the above things were annoying, the important parts of the job (the actual waterproofing) were great and look and work perfectly. So I would still give them an A.

Lack of response to requests to discuss the work, both before and after the initial visit. Reco to do work which adds cost but based on incomplete inspection of the issue. For example, water leaking into the basement - they did not inspect whether lack of slope away from the house was contributing to the issue. I noticed later that there had been settling of the ground and I had a negative slope toward the house. They recommended tearing down drywall to look for a crack (makes sense) and adding new window drains - because it was "convenient to do so - but no evidence there was any need. I called and left several messages after the initial meeting to discuss it further. They would not guarantee their work unless I bought a new sump and sump pump, even though there is nothing wrong with my current sump - rather the issue was the pipes leading into it were not functioning. So they would guarantee the work only if I spent thousands on a new sump that would not correct the underlying issue (which is a much more expensive repair of many thousands). They did not return my calls until I called a third time to complain and canceled the work (pending further discussion). Then they did not convey to the work group the work was canceled because they called that morning to confirm the workers were showing up. Then they said someone would call me later that day, we agreed on a specific time - they did not call that time either. I paid a deposit, and there is more to the story, but it is not worth spending further time with this business. Lesson learned.

We had to temporarily move the laundry sink then put it back. We had to detach some things and reattach them. I would use them again in future but hopefully I will not need them.

They came out and looked at it, gave us a price. We paid the deposit, but after several weeks of not hearing from them, we called them. They gave us a future date of about 6 weeks, so we waited. Fine. When they came out to do the repair, they injected about 4 dime-size holes with the foam material. It did lift the concrete, but he said he could not lift it any higher. We are left with a gap still of almost an inch. And now we have ponding water in another section of the walkway. If they were not able to completely fix the problem, they should have told us up front if we would have to replace the concrete rather than the foam injection. Now, we are out $1300, and still have a gap and ponding water. Also, the technician never gave us a receipt, even though we asked twice for one to be sent. It has been several weeks since we first notified them of our complaint, and they have still not come out to fix it like they promised. Hopefully they will follow through. The man we dealt with over the phone seemed very nice, but we want the project completed correctly.

At the initial assessment visit, the worker sent to do the assessment was inattentive, took a couple business calls during the appointment, and didn't seem to be in a hurry. Customer service was lacking in that aspect of the appointment. Didn't have a full understanding of what we had already paid for (pre-purchased service from Angie's List). Purchased an Angie's List ad that had a defined service to be provided at a specific price. Additionally, we were told to remove materials (drywall, studs on the ground, insulation) which was not required prior to repair according to the worker sent to do the actual repair of the crack. At the repair visit, the worker sent was most excellent. A complete 180 on the customer service provided. The gentlemen was attentive, appreciative of the pre-work of material removal, and worked efficiently to get the repair completed within an hour. Quality of work was excellent.

The experience went very well. I had a very difficult time finding someone to install an egress window in my basement. The few I found who said they could do it were expensive, and I wasn't sure they knew what they were doing. Then I found The Basement Doctor. I set up an appointment and met Walt, their sales representative. He gave us a very thorough presentation and made me feel comfortable that The Basement Doctor had lots of experience in this work and would do a quality job. Their pricing was very competitive, so we hired them. They did the work exactly as promised, right on time and on budget. They were fast, respectful and cleaned up very nicely. We are very pleased with the window and would highly recommend them.
