"I had an estimate done on some electric work, and James Pinson did an excellent job. He was very thorough, clear with his suggestions, and the pricing was very competitive. Based on James's visit and the estimate he provided, I chose Mr. Electric to complete the work."

"Called 6/20/19. First available appointment 7/11/19. I found another company who came 6/27/19 for free estimate and they did repair the light. Aside from having to wait 3 weeks, they charge $69.00 service fee to come out. They also do electrical house check at that time."

"Mr.Electic and Ryan, as well as the electrician, were all amazing. My electric panel burned out at night. I called them at 10pm and they had a representative at my house the following morning. They're quote was within market rates with a bit of an expected mark-up for urgency. It was definitely reasonably priced, especially since i couldn't find anyone else able to do the job right away. Long story short, the electrician was at my house the very next day after the quote and did an AMAZING job installing a larger panel. They needed to cut the wall to make more space and did it in a way that is practically invisible from the outside. You really cannot go wrong with this provider."

"These guys ran original wiring from the electric panel to the garage, installed lights, outlets, an outside socket and exterior lights. The garage had one light bulb and one outlet. I couldn't be happier with the quality of the work or the price. I just wish I had taken before and after pictures. They are on my agenda for further renovations."

"Brad and Clayton are top notch! They far exceeded my expectations for quality of work and costs. Two master electrical panels were replaced and rewired. Their professionalism and prompt followup were superb. I plan to use them again for additional electrical work in the future."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Upgrading a two-prong outlet to a three-prong outlet typically costs between $20 and $50 per outlet if the electrical box is already grounded. However, the cost can increase significantly if the system is not grounded, as this may require grounding the box or upgrading your electrical panel. Electricians generally charge between $50 and $100 per hour for labor, and the total cost for a more complex installation could range from $130 to $300.

Yes, professional installations typically include wiring, switches, and circuit adjustments for safe operation.

Some types of electric fireplaces use more electricity than others. Models that produce 1,500 watts will have more of an effect on your heating bill than 750-watt models.

Electric fireplaces use an average of $1.85 of electricity every eight hours. These minimal operational costs aren’t likely to make a big difference in your electric bill—unless you’re using it as a primary heating source for your home and it’s running most of the time.

String lights require electricity, but not an excessive amount, especially when compared to other lighting fixtures. LED rope lights, for instance, consume around one watt per foot. Running six or seven light strings simultaneously should only cost you around $10 to $15 each month. You can save even more money by remembering to turn off your lights during daylight hours.

Whole-house generators can run continuously for extended periods, even for weeks at a time (around 400 to 500 hours), as long as they have a sufficient fuel supply. However, this type of extensive use will increase wear and tear and can shorten the generator's overall lifespan. During long periods of operation, it's important to check and refill the engine oil as needed, potentially as frequently as daily depending on the model. If your generator uses a fuel tank, ensure it is kept full to prevent unexpected shutdowns.
