"Proprietor was prompt in responding, gave us a timely appt, offered to arrive early when his schedule allowed, and explained to us what he thought was going on. All for no charge, since the problem appears to be outside the house, and he did not charge for checking out our voltages and our electric panel. How often does that happen? He set our minds at rest, and off he went to do good elsewhere.... Will certainly use again once we have the electric company check their wiring."

"Jim is an experienced electrician. We hired him to install an 220 line to our garage for the purpose of charging our new EV. Experienced in this type of job, Jim arrived with everything needed to complete the work (i.e. running the electrical line from the Box - which need a bit of modification - through the basement ceiling to the garage, and installing the 220 receptacle in the garage.) Only slight hitch was the the actual 220 outlet which was mounted in such a way that I could not mount the actual vehicle charger in the best location on the garage wall. Everything worked fine, I just have to come up with a fixture to permanently mount the charger. Jim did all the work within a 2 hour window. I think the cost was a bit on the pricey side (though Jim said that his price would be among the cheapest around. I'm not so sure of that). Bottom line however, I chose Jim because he impressed me that he was fully capable of doing a quality job, which he did. So I am a satisfied customer."

"Mr.Electic and Ryan, as well as the electrician, were all amazing. My electric panel burned out at night. I called them at 10pm and they had a representative at my house the following morning. They're quote was within market rates with a bit of an expected mark-up for urgency. It was definitely reasonably priced, especially since i couldn't find anyone else able to do the job right away. Long story short, the electrician was at my house the very next day after the quote and did an AMAZING job installing a larger panel. They needed to cut the wall to make more space and did it in a way that is practically invisible from the outside. You really cannot go wrong with this provider."

"Very professional company and honest, knowledgeable staff. I had received 3 quotes for my project, and their quote was the best, and I felt most comfortable with their staff. I did not have the project completed yet, although when I do, I'll be choosing Advanced Technologies and Electrical."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

In Parma, simple electrical jobs like installing outlets or light fixtures generally take a few hours. More complex projects, such as panel upgrades or adding dedicated circuits, usually require one to two days plus permit and inspection time. Full home rewiring or smart home system installations can take one to three weeks. Winter weather and permit processing may extend timelines, while spring and fall are peak seasons for electrical contractors.

Helpful?

Many Parma homes, built between the 1950s and 1970s, often have outdated wiring, undersized electrical panels, or lack GFCI outlets in kitchens and bathrooms. Permit approval and inspections can add one to two weeks to your project timeline. Homes near Big Creek may need extra flood protection for electrical systems. Upgrading your electrical panel can improve safety and energy efficiency, and Ohio sometimes offers incentives for energy-saving improvements.

Helpful?

In Parma, urgent electrical issues like sparking outlets, burning odors, frequent circuit breaker trips, or storm-related damage should be addressed right away to prevent safety hazards. If you experience partial power loss or see signs of overheating at your electrical panel, call a professional promptly. Upgrades such as adding circuits or replacing panels can be scheduled, but don’t delay—many Parma homes have aging wiring that benefits from timely attention.

Helpful?

In Parma, electrical contractors typically specialize in residential work, commercial projects, or emergency repairs. Some focus on smart home installations, solar panel systems, or generator setups. When hiring, ensure your contractor is properly licensed and insured in OH, and familiar with local permit requirements. Choosing a contractor experienced with Parma’s older homes can help ensure your project meets code and addresses common local electrical issues.

Helpful?

Parma’s cold winters and heavy snowfall can delay outdoor electrical work and complicate repairs, while spring and summer storms often cause power surges and outages. Scheduling major projects like panel upgrades or whole-house surge protector installations is easiest in milder months, typically April to June or September to October. Seasonal demand may affect contractor availability, so plan ahead during peak storm seasons for faster service.
