"To begin with, they responded. That seems to be difficult for many electricians to do. Haywood Electric responded to our inquiry on Home Advisor within a few minutes. From that moment on, it was nothing but smooth sailing. I was able to arrange the work that I needed via a few texts. Their electrician showed up the next business day. The electrician was professional, courteous and friendly. He completed the work within the time frame he quoted me. To top it all off, the final bill was $200 LESS than the original estimate. I would recommend Haywood Electric to anyone in need of electric work."

"Jim can solve problems well. He started the job very soon after we settled on the details, and he got it done on time, and now my EV car is charging smoothly. I am pleased with the outcome! Problems that arose included having to move electrical boxes and redigging a trench, and yet he still got it done on time. His services are relatively expensive I’m guessing, but he’s knowledgeable about a variety of things that turn out to be really helpful when you run into problems (such as poorly done existing wiring). My electrical panel was a mess and he fixed it up nicely."

"Our water stopped and was told by multiple electricians it was most likely the water pump. Advanced Technologies and Electrical fit us into their schedule the same day to see if it was an electrical issue. It was. He temporarily fixed the issue with a plan to come back and fix it properly. I would highly recommend working with them."

"CNE Electrical Contractors were very easy to work with. Most of the the process was done via emails (except for the onsite site review). They were quick to schedule the work once I okayed the work. They were quick to get the work done. Would highly recommend them!!!"

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Electrical maintenance in Stow should account for humid summers and icy winters. Test GFCI outlets monthly, inspect electrical panels quarterly for rust or corrosion, and schedule a professional inspection of your main system twice a year. Clean and weatherproof outdoor outlets, and regularly test surge protectors. After heavy rain or snow, have a local electrician check for hidden moisture damage or wiring issues.

Helpful?

For electrical work in Stow, use weather-resistant outlets and covers for outdoor areas, and moisture-resistant GFCI outlets in kitchens, bathrooms, and garages. Choose 12 or 14 AWG copper wiring for reliability, and install whole-house surge protectors to guard against frequent storms. Always select code-compliant, UL-listed materials, and consider energy-efficient LED lighting and smart home devices for added convenience and savings.

Helpful?

In Stow, older electrical panels—especially in homes built before 1990—often need upgrades to meet modern safety standards. Kitchens and bathrooms require regular attention due to high moisture and appliance use. Basements and garages can develop wiring issues from dampness. Outdoor lighting, pool circuits, and surge protection systems also need routine checks, especially as more Stow homeowners add smart home features and electric vehicles.

Helpful?

In Stow, design your electrical inspection routine to match the local climate. Each spring, inspect outdoor outlets and GFCI devices for moisture damage from snowmelt. Summer is ideal for checking air conditioning wiring and surge protection before thunderstorm season. In fall, review heating system wiring and prepare outdoor circuits for holiday lighting. During winter, monitor panel loads and test backup power sources to ensure safe operation.

Helpful?

In Stow, address urgent issues like sparking outlets, burning odors, or frequently tripped breakers right away, as these signal safety risks. After severe storms or if heating power is lost in winter, seek immediate electrical repairs. Upgrades such as installing smart thermostats or adding outlets can be scheduled for milder months. Always prioritize repairs that affect safety or essential home systems.
