"I had an estimate done on some electric work, and James Pinson did an excellent job. He was very thorough, clear with his suggestions, and the pricing was very competitive. Based on James's visit and the estimate he provided, I chose Mr. Electric to complete the work."

"Called 6/20/19. First available appointment 7/11/19. I found another company who came 6/27/19 for free estimate and they did repair the light. Aside from having to wait 3 weeks, they charge $69.00 service fee to come out. They also do electrical house check at that time."

"To begin with, they responded. That seems to be difficult for many electricians to do. Haywood Electric responded to our inquiry on Home Advisor within a few minutes. From that moment on, it was nothing but smooth sailing. I was able to arrange the work that I needed via a few texts. Their electrician showed up the next business day. The electrician was professional, courteous and friendly. He completed the work within the time frame he quoted me. To top it all off, the final bill was $200 LESS than the original estimate. I would recommend Haywood Electric to anyone in need of electric work."

"Jim can solve problems well. He started the job very soon after we settled on the details, and he got it done on time, and now my EV car is charging smoothly. I am pleased with the outcome! Problems that arose included having to move electrical boxes and redigging a trench, and yet he still got it done on time. His services are relatively expensive I’m guessing, but he’s knowledgeable about a variety of things that turn out to be really helpful when you run into problems (such as poorly done existing wiring). My electrical panel was a mess and he fixed it up nicely."

"Mr.Electic and Ryan, as well as the electrician, were all amazing. My electric panel burned out at night. I called them at 10pm and they had a representative at my house the following morning. They're quote was within market rates with a bit of an expected mark-up for urgency. It was definitely reasonably priced, especially since i couldn't find anyone else able to do the job right away. Long story short, the electrician was at my house the very next day after the quote and did an AMAZING job installing a larger panel. They needed to cut the wall to make more space and did it in a way that is practically invisible from the outside. You really cannot go wrong with this provider."

"These guys ran original wiring from the electric panel to the garage, installed lights, outlets, an outside socket and exterior lights. The garage had one light bulb and one outlet. I couldn't be happier with the quality of the work or the price. I just wish I had taken before and after pictures. They are on my agenda for further renovations."

"CNE Electrical Contractors were very easy to work with. Most of the the process was done via emails (except for the onsite site review). They were quick to schedule the work once I okayed the work. They were quick to get the work done. Would highly recommend them!!!"

Electrical questions, answered by experts

In Hudson, begin spring by checking for storm-related damage and testing GFCI outlets. During summer, monitor system performance during peak usage and confirm surge protection is active. Fall is ideal for inspecting heating system wiring and preparing outdoor outlets for winter. In winter, focus on indoor safety and moisture issues. Schedule a professional inspection annually and keep records of all electrical work for long-term peace of mind.

Helpful?

In Hudson, plan for necessary permits and inspections for most electrical projects. Mature trees can impact overhead lines, and local soil conditions may influence grounding requirements. Weather delays are common, especially for outdoor work. Some neighborhoods have HOA restrictions on visible exterior changes. Consider whether your area uses underground or overhead service, and plan ahead for smart home upgrades or seasonal lighting needs.

Helpful?

In Hudson, it’s wise to schedule electrical projects if you notice flickering lights, frequent breaker trips, or outlets that feel warm or emit a burning odor. After severe storms or outages, inspections are recommended. Homes built before 1990 may need updates. Seasonal checks—especially before winter or major renovations—help keep your electrical system reliable and safe throughout the year.

Helpful?

In Hudson, visible signs like outdated knob-and-tube or aluminum wiring, missing GFCI outlets, or non-permitted work suggest your electrical system needs attention. Watch for overloaded circuits, inconsistent panel labeling, or mismatched wire types. If GFCI outlets won’t reset, or you notice voltage drops and DIY repairs with mixed materials, it’s time to have a professional assess and update your system.

Helpful?

As a new homeowner in Hudson, start with a comprehensive electrical inspection, especially if your home predates 2000. Prioritize upgrading GFCI outlets in kitchens, bathrooms, and outdoor spaces to meet current code. Install interconnected smoke and carbon monoxide detectors for added safety. Consider whole-house surge protection, and if you plan to finish a basement or add EV charging, ensure your panel can support these upgrades.
