"Came and evaluated the places where we had a roof leak. Looked at ever thoroughly and even looked in the attic. We had no mold issue to remediate, honesty is so important in this situation! I’m so grateful!"

"Slade and team did an outstanding job taking down my large semi-above ground pool, deck, shed, raised flower beds and fencing. Slade provided a fair estimate and worked on time with great communication. After my backyard demo, DigWorx evenly added fill, topsoil and seeded my yard (even did so where their machines unavoidably made track marks). They took care to cause the least amount of disruption in my yard as possible while getting the job done. They did a terrific job and would highly recommend."

"My experience with Omar and his team were amazing! They are fast and clean and extremely professional. I had a huge problem with asbestos tile throughout my whole house that I thought was going to be a nightmare for my new project, but Omar saved my house! The pricing was amazing for the work that was done not only did he remove the tile but the drywall and insulation as well. Now I can start fresh with a clean slate and build my home. Omar helped me out with identifying and remediating some mold as well and he did this because he wants his customers to have the cleanest house to live in and cares for his customers health and safety. If you have any second guesses on what to do with asbestos or mold, don’t cover it up, don’t put a bandaid on a problem, call Omar and you will have peace of mind in your home and you will find it is worth it. If you need a reference or want to learn more about how Omar helped me ask Omar for my cell number I will gladly give a reference."

"The rep came out and reviewed the areas of concern.  He gave me an estimate on the spot. The next day I decided to go with JBH and the project was scheduled for the following week.  The workers arrived within the scheduled time period and they were very pleasant to work with. They were responsive, efficient and neat. The job was completed in no time.

"Showed up and broke a piece of siding off without any protection on (and me standing right there). I was kind of surprised. Testing result came back quickly. Overall, would advise more caution for their field men when handling asbestos materials."

"John is a real professional. He answered all my questions about our mold issue and timeline for the work. Once I decided to go with his bid, he scheduled the appointment for the next day. When he arrived he did the work quickly and provided a full report along with my test results the very next day. He did everything he said he was going to do, and even walked me through the report so I knew what my options were for next steps. He even offered referrals for the remediation work that needed to be done. I?d recommend Sound Environmental and John to anyone who has any type of mold issue and needs some environmental testing. He was professional, thorough, and expedient."

Biohazard Remediation questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can use vinegar to remove mild pink mold infestations. Instead of using a commercial mold-killing product, you can mix one part white vinegar with one part water in a spray bottle. To get rid of the mold, apply the solution to the pink mold and let it sit for up to an hour. Then, scrub it off with a brush and rinse the entire area with hot water.

Bleach and vinegar are both home remedies for killing mold and mildew, but neither is the best answer. A professional cleaning company or mold remediation company can do the best job. If you want to attempt killing mold yourself, however, reach for plain white vinegar before bleach. Vinegar is a mild acid, and when used properly, it can kill about 80% of mold varieties, along with their spores. It’s also much safer to use than bleach, as it doesn’t include toxic chemicals and isn’t generally dangerous to human or animal health.

Yes, carpet mold can spread if not addressed properly or quickly. Mold can spread to underneath the carpet, impacting the subfloor or attached walls. Mold and mildew can spread within the first 72 hours, so it is important to address the problem quickly and remove any affected carpet.

Actually, removing mildew from your front-load washer is simple. Wipe down the gasket with a cloth and use Q-tips and a toothbrush for the hard-to-reach areas. During this cleaning process, use a 1:1 mixture of white vinegar and water to combat any mold.

You can also try running a hot cycle with a 1:1 mixture of one-quarter cup of baking soda and water in the detergent dispenser. But if mold growth is severe, it’s more efficient to install a brand new seal altogether.

Homeowners insurance policies vary quite a bit, and whether or not yours will cover water and mold damage largely depends on the cause. If the damage is due to a sudden event, like burst pipes or a natural disaster, many policies will cover it. However, if it's due to neglect or failing to notice the leak over an extended period, you're likely responsible for the water damage restoration costs.
