"Had an issue where my air conditioning just wasn't working right anymore. Called Mike because he'd previously fixed any issue with my furnace and was pretty comprehensive. He came out in less than 24 hours. Showed up right on time. Walked me through every step he was taking along the way. Showed me how my AC unit had gotten completely clogged up with cottonwood. Proceeded to clean that up, added some additional freon and within a couple hours things were right as rain. You can just tell that he's an honest guy. Didn't try to upsell anything. Showed me the problem, told me the fix, and did it. Would recommend to anyone."

"They called me a couple of days after I purchased the deal, even before I had a chance to call them to schedule. We made an appointment, they called before they arrived—on time—and did the work in less time than estimated. They were efficient, friendly but professional, showed me how to set and maintain the humidifier, AND they cleaned up after themselves. Very pleased with everything!"

"Scheduled service to replace a leaking faucet.  They arrived on time, were polite, courteous, and professional.  $238 seems like an extremely high price for 15-20 minutes worth of labor.  The relatively simple repair job was done quickly, and if not for the seemingly high price, would rate them excellent overall.

"When I called them to get a quote on a mini split AC unit, Gary set up an appointment. When He came to our house we showed him what we wanted done and He gave us the best solution to what e wanted done, We hired them based on the internet reviews I had read. His installers Ben and Ryan came out at the time of the appointment. These two guys were very professional and courteous. When they were done they went over everything they had done and showed us how to operate the system. I highly recommend this Company and give them a 5 Star rating"

Small jobs welcome

"There is never a good time for a hot water heater to go, and in my case it was the Friday before a long 4th of July weekend. A lightning strike sent a surge that ended up causing some issues to my tankless hot water heater and this unit was less than a year old and installed by Cellino. Making a late night call, an answering service took the call and left a message. Shortly there after the owner Tony called to discuss the problem. A tech was sent out the next day and unfortunately the Supplier needed to be contacted to help diagnose the problem and make sure it was covered under warranty. The fact that it was a holiday weekend and the supplier was closed, Tony came out personally and installed a temporary water heater for my wife and my young boys. Upon the arriving of the part, Tony came out first thing and was prompt and professional always being careful to put on his shoe coverings as to not tract dirt in the house. He fixed the heater and was so professional in the process. I would highly recommend Cellino plumbing to anyone who had a plumbing or HVAC need. Its always amazing when the owner comes out to personally take on the job at hand. Its no wonder why the company always has great reviews, exceptional leadership from a hardworking knowledgeable founder."

Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

Yes, having mismatched evaporator and condenser coils in your AC system can lead to serious issues. For instance, it can result in higher monthly energy costs as the system runs longer to compensate for the mismatch. This mismatch can also put extra stress on the system, compromising its efficiency and longevity.

Along with that, mismatched coils can lead to higher temperatures and humidity levels in the home. What’s more, using coils of different sizes may violate the manufacturer's warranty, as they are designed to work synergistically, and any mismatch could lead to repairs and system failure.

No, it isn’t necessarily bad to turn your AC on and off frequently—contrary to popular belief. Even if you stop and start your AC throughout the day, it won’t use as much energy as it would if you ran it nonstop.

If you’re concerned about your power consumption and energy costs, there are a few simple ways to use your AC more efficiently. Regularly cleaning the filters, scheduling routine maintenance, and using a programmable thermostat are all great choices.

Fixing a leak in an AC unit costs $200 to $1,600, depending on the type of leak and any related damage. But depending on the age and condition of your AC, it might make more sense to replace the AC unit instead of repairing it. If your AC is only a few years old and relatively problem-free, then repairing it is the right call. But if it’s nearing a decade old and has other issues, consider replacing it.

Replacing an HVAC system does not always include new ductwork. The decision depends on the condition of your existing ducts. If they are in good shape, correctly sized for the new unit, and meet current standards, they can often be reused. However, if the ducts are damaged, poorly designed, or improperly sized, they will likely need to be replaced or upgraded to ensure the new system operates efficiently. An HVAC contractor will assess your ductwork and recommend the best course of action. Typically, ductwork is purchased separately, and a full replacement will add to the overall project cost.

While you’ll pay more upfront for a brand-new HVAC unit, you can save money in the long run. Here’s how to save on your new HVAC system:

  • When purchasing a high-efficiency system, your energy bills will be lower in the future.

  • You may be eligible for special offers from your local energy company.

  • Depending on the system, you may be eligible for HVAC rebates and tax credits.

  • Choose to replace your air conditioning unit and furnace simultaneously to save on labor and installation costs.
