"Beware of shipping issues with this company. Ordered an ice maker installation kit on 10/10/25. Shipping was due no later than 10/20 according to company and FedEx tracking. FedEx tracking showed the package at their facility for 8 days without moving beginning on 10/15. Called FedEx 3 times. Each time they said they cannot find package and I have to contact shipper. Shipper has to make a claim, they will not mark it as lost. Called Appliance Parts Pros twice. Each time they say FedEx has to mark package lost before they will do anything. They also state they have to wait 14 days from them before doing anything because of their contract with FedEx. I don't care about their contract, I want what was ordered and paid for. Just going in circles with them and FedEX. If they shipped after 14 days it would be 22 days from that point, 32 days from the date of order if they shipped it that day. There was a deadline for installing this part before tenants arrive. They did not care, would not m"

Residential and light commercial inspection company. Inspections are thorough, most lasting 3 hours or more. Included in inspections are roof, exterior siding and foundation, interior, heating & cooling, electrical service, plumbing, attic and basement. Over 500+ items are inspected during the inspection. My clients are provided with an extremely thorough and independent home inspection followed by a detailed web based Inspection Report complete with photographs and important links. My inspection reports can be easily sent by email to interested parties such as Realtors, real estate attorneys, mortgage brokers, contractors or family members for review. Just like homes, not all inspectors are alike. Before hiring an inspector, talk to him/her, interview them, ask questions. How long have you been inspecting homes? How long will the inspection take? What kind of inspection report will I receive and when? These are just some of the questions that should be asked before hiring an inspector. Part of a home inspector’s job is to manage the expectations of their clients. This is especially true for first time home buyers or when my clients have never dealt with a home inspector before. Explaining the limitations of a home inspection to my clients will help them develop realistic expectations concerning what to expect from a home inspection report, and what lies beyond the scope of the inspection. Creating realistic expectations in my client’s mind will help prevent misunderstandings and promote smooth real estate transactions. My inspection area covers the entire Capital Region from Saratoga to Hudson and Amsterdam to the Massachusetts boarder. I am a NYS licensed and InterNACHI certified home inspector. I currently hold the office of Vice-President of the Capital Region Chapter of InterNACHI. For a thorough, independent and honest assessment of the property, please give me a call. Highland Air, Inc. is a radon remediation company. Highland Air is small company and does not sub-contract any part of the mitigation process with the exception of hiring a thermal imaging contractor when necessary to locate radiant heat pipes beneath concrete floors. Highland Air does take major credit cards (2.75% additional fee from the card company). No deposit is required, payment is due in full on the day the job is completed.

"Austin did a professional job, knows his business, and was a pleasure to talk to and learn from. He also charges a very reasonable price and provides warranty and guarantee if any follow-up needed. He also had to suffer through high 90F humid weather for the outside work without a bit of complaining!"

Wood Stove Inspection questions, answered by experts

A chimney without a liner is not recommended. Chimney liners protect the surrounding structure from heat, reducing the risk of fire or structural damage. Just as important, liners prevent carbon monoxide and other toxic gases from leaking into your abode by guiding smoke and gases out more effectively. Remember, installing a liner ensures safety and extends the life of your chimney.

For many people, the primary disadvantage of a gas fireplace insert is that it doesn’t look or smell like a classic wood-burning fire. Additionally, the labor costs of installing a gas insert are higher than some other types of fireplace inserts, including electric and pellet inserts. There are also limitations on where you can install ventless gas fireplaces because they’re banned in certain places (including California).

Outdoor fireplaces are extremely sturdy if constructed correctly, but they do require regular maintenance. The good news is that cleaning and checking the fireplace needs to be done just once a year. However, for safety reasons, let a professional clean the fireplace. Homeowners should expect to pay between $100 and $300 for outdoor fireplace maintenance. Any damage to the fireplace itself, however, will cost much more to repair.

Soapstone wood stoves hold onto heat the longest, which means you can burn less fuel and enjoy the warmth for longer. Additionally, catalytic wood stoves include a catalytic combustor that can reduce emissions and create a cleaner burn no matter what the stove is made of. Of course, the most efficient wood stoves also tend to be costlier up front—but they can still save you money in the long run.

Regular inspections, using dry wood, and installing chimney caps help maintain efficiency and safety.
