Matchless Stove & Chimney Inc

This job began in October, 2014. Due to various circumstances the actual installation occurred today. It went extremely well. Dan and Chris were very competent. When there was a mix-up with a part, the correct one was delivered expeditiously. They were also very nice men to have in the house (and my dog loved them!)

From sales to installation, I've found all of the employees of Matchless to be patient and professional.

I love my new stove!

I was contacted the day before and advised that they would be there between 8:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. on the 22nd. At 8:30 a.m. sharp, Brian and Chris showed up.

They then proceeded to put down drop cloths everywhere they would be walking to ensure they would not dirty the house.

Brian and Chris are the best 2 workers we have ever had in our house. They were super respectful, not only to my husband and I, but between themselves also which was so great to see. When one needed the other to retrieve something from the truck or do something, it was so nice to see how they respected each other. We have had many workers over the years, but these two gentlemen were the nicest we have ever had.

They worked constantly during their time here, never stopped working. We have had other workers come here who have left their work areas messy, empty bottles, papers, etc., but not these two gentlemen. They were constantly vacuuming to make sure the room was not getting dusty or dirty and when they left, they did not leave a speck of dust or dirt.

All in all, I was very pleased with Matchless Stove and Chimney. Although the price was slightly higher than I had originally envisioned, their professionalism made me glad I chose them.
On the day I had scheduled for installation, the area was hit with a snow storm that ended up dumping about 10and quot; of snow. I had expected to receive a call stating that I'd need to reschedule...but the technicians arrived precisely on time and started working right away. Even though one of them had to climb up on the roof to make the necessary modifications to the chimney, neither one complained or seemed even slightly unhappy with the situation. They were polite and patient and answered all my questions as they worked.
I had recently repainted and redecorated, so I was concerned about the potential for dust and debris when the old fireplace was removed...but the technicians did an excellent job vacuuming and cleaning up after themselves. Once they were finished, it was impossible to tell they had even been there.
The only snag in the entire process ended up being caused by a minor issue with the electrical wiring. Rather than running a new circuit to the breaker box, the technicians initially branched off an existing junction box. For some reason, that caused the blower module in the gas fireplace to short out repeatedly. Since it was already late in the day by the time this was diagnosed, I was asked if it would be acceptable to me to schedule another appointment the following week to correct the problem. I agreed, and exactly one week later a different technician arrived, completely disassembled and inspected the wiring inside the fireplace unit, then ran a new circuit to the breaker box. After that, the blower worked normally.
I would certainly use Matchless Stove and Chimney in the future.

I visited the Clifton Park store and with the help of Pete selected the doors that I wanted. Pete fully explained the type of logs they use and why. Someone came to the house and inspected the fireplace and took pictures. The 2 people that came to install were professional. They removed the old concrete hearth and when Dan started to install the tile that I had purchased there was an issue about how the tiles were going to fit without having to cut some tiles. He asked me for my input and with ideas from him and me we came up with a way to fit them. I'm very happy with the result. The new chimney cap, gas logs, and new door were installed as well. I'm looking forward to having a fire this winter with just the turn of a knob!

I went to the store to pick out the model and then two guys from Matchless Stove and Chimney Inc came to install the insert. One worked on the chimney and the other worked on the insert. They got it wired downstairs with the gas and electric. They were here a third of the day and they were on time. They got right to work, they were efficient, quick, they cleaned up after themselves, they were polite, knowledgeable, and I was happy with the price. They put a cap on the house for no charge.
