"     In order to complete to layout design I submitted a drawing of the room as well as a series of photos.  The website for Homemade design has a questionaire what helps define your overall tastes in design.  I joined Pinterest and started boards for furniture, lighting, bookshelves which were reviewed.  Homemade design comes to New York periodically to meet with clients not in the Boston area and this gave us a chance to meet and select furniture and upholstery at the New York Design center.  This is an extra charge but well worth it since I was completely overwhelmed.  They were extremely patient and guided me through the process.  At one point I decided to move the television which turned out to be a bad idea -- they explained why it would not worked and I concurred competely after I understood the reasons.  So, they are not afraid to tell you if you going down the wrong road. I live in a New York City townhouse and forget that I do not have a whol lot of space even though my house is huge for NYC. So, I had to be told how to "scale" everything to the space we had to work with, which was helpful
I purchased the service several months ago but was not ready to actually decide on the actual purchases until recently. So, the delay in completion is because of my schedule.  I now hope to finish everything by September.

"From the very beginning Hiram was sooo supportive as we were in the planning stages. I am so visually challenged with no imagination, making it difficult to make decisions. Tile throughout or just in the kitchen? Dark or light? Ughhhh. Everyone on the team was incredibly professional. Always arriving promptly and so responsive to my questions and accommodating. I loved the perfectionism exhibited by Hiram, Cole, Anthony, Gary, and Adam from selecting products and design, installing the cabinets to laying the tile in the herringbone pattern with the 1/16th joints. (oops, Hiram. meant 1/8th. *grin*). Vertical blinds and lighting fixtures were covered securely in plastic. Touch ups were made without any prompting from me. Hiram and Cole were first to point out and correct any imperfections. Hiram did a massive search to find the leathered Black Beauty granite that I wanted. . No easy task. And the fabricator was amazing. The one seam and mitered edges are nearly invisible. All events were well coordinated. The entire project took about 4 weeks. "Contacted King’s landscape for yard clean up. Luis was quick to come and estimate the work that needed to be done to satisfy both myself and the HOA. Was in for quite a shock when he stated my palm trees had to be pulled—they were not planted with enough room to grow. I was unhappy with the tall grass like bushes I had growing too so he said he could replace those as well. The estimate was a little higher than what I was hoping. But I was short on time. They were able to come two days later to complete the work. I had to work so I paid them and trusted them to do a good job. I was impressed with how it looked when I returned home. They even took the debris, that was a first for me. Overall, great work — slightly pricey."
