"Very professional, installed, patched as needed, overcame somewhat challenging design and structural and electrical configuration of house. Technicians committed to doing it right; one stayed until 6:30 p.m. adjusting and insuring the system worked correctly.

"Alvin was careful to explain prior to starting work that if he required extra supplies, etc it would be on top of the Angie's price. Also, that there was the possibility that it would not be a simple replacement. I expected that. The replacement turned out to be more complicated than I'd anticipated.
The plumbing pipes for hose bibbs are installed between the vertical studs. There is supposed to be a horizontal cross brace that secures the "inside" part of the bibb  with 2 screws into the wood. Turns out, when the house was built in 1997, no cross bracing was added inside the wall, so the unsupported pipe had been shifting each time we turned the faucet on or off for the past 17 years. So, when he went to remove the outside portion, instead of "unthreading" as it should have,  the copper pipe broke off at the joint inside the wall. In order to complete the repair, Alvin needed to make an access port on the interior wall. He very carefully sawed an 8x8" piece out of the drywall, added a wood cross brace to the existing framing, secured the plumbing pipe to it, then attached the new hose bibb on the outside. After completing the repair, he carefully re-fitted the piece to the wall and used some caulk I had to cover the seam.
We were charged only for the difference in supplies, not for the additional time involved, which I was grateful for. I was also relieved that we had decided to have this done. I hate to think about some day going out to turn the hose on or off and have a fountain inside the wall.
I felt he handled the situation very well, explaining to me along the way what the problem was and how he would fix it.

"Initially, getting a quote estimate and booking a repair date was delayed, mainly due to the current Covid climate and their busy work schedule. But, I am extremely happy to have stayed with this company. Chris, Alicia, Michael and Joshua were all great, very professional. Michael (Flores) and Joshua did an excellent job installing my tankless water heater! I you have the time to factor in their busy schedule, I would definitely recommend this company! Thank you Pipeworks for everything. Looking forward to doing future business with you."

"Rosendo and Joshua were very professional. They arrived at 7:15am. They put the weed block down in sections and then filled the yard with gravel in sections too. Rosendo also brought in river rock. Over 15 tons of gravel they put in my yard. They worked very hard and kept everything neat. They cleaned everything up after they finished. The yard looks amazing, they did an excellent job. Reasonably priced, I would rehire them again if I needed more work done."

"It turned out fine. I had to travel back to the East Coast to visit some some other family. Then I came back and left a friend in charge of monitoring the install after I returned to Alaska. They did the work after the fact of me being there.

From the pictures that my friend took of their work, there was only 1 problem. But they came back and repaired it. I guess the supervisor came back and did a walk over after his crew did the work and he cleaned it up. They also advised me of some other work that needs to be done and that turned out pretty good too as far as the estimate. They will probably do it this summer. I plan on using them again on the stucco work.

Basement Waterproofing questions, answered by experts

Santa Fe homeowners are choosing waterproofing solutions that respect adobe and Pueblo Revival aesthetics, such as earth-toned sealants and natural-looking drainage covers. There’s growing interest in integrating rainwater collection with moisture control systems and using materials that withstand freeze-thaw cycles. Smart technology, like Wi-Fi-enabled sump pumps and remote humidity monitoring, is increasingly popular, as are eco-friendly approaches that complement xeriscaping.

Helpful?

In Santa Fe, be wary of contractors who skip a detailed assessment of your home’s adobe or stucco construction, or who overlook the impact of local clay soil and freeze-thaw cycles. If a quote lacks specifics about drainage solutions or foundation repair, or if you’re pressured to decide quickly after heavy rains, consider it a warning sign. Reliable pros will address moisture control tailored to Santa Fe’s unique conditions.

Helpful?

In Santa Fe, unexpected challenges often arise when excavating through caliche or volcanic rock, or when stabilizing expansive clay soil around foundations. Additional costs may result from the need for historical district permissions, archaeological assessments, or upgrading older electrical and plumbing systems. Protecting against freeze damage and restoring native landscaping after waterproofing work are also common factors that can impact your overall project scope.

Helpful?

New homeowners in Santa Fe should begin with a comprehensive foundation and moisture control inspection, focusing on how monsoon rains and clay soil affect their property. Address exterior grading to direct water away, install or upgrade perimeter drains, and seal any visible cracks with materials suitable for adobe or stucco. Consider adding a sump pump with backup power, and ensure all solutions are designed for Santa Fe’s climate.

Helpful?

In Santa Fe, create a seasonal routine by inspecting for new foundation cracks each spring, testing sump pumps and drainage systems before monsoon season, and checking for seepage or efflorescence after heavy rains. Before winter, insulate exposed pipes and review backup power for pumps. Regularly clear gutters, confirm proper grading, and monitor basement humidity to stay ahead of moisture issues unique to Santa Fe’s climate.
