"To Mrs. [Member Name Removed] and Whom it May Concern, Mrs. [Member Name Removed] is simply paying for a poorly installed lath and plaster job done as a re-stucco of her home some half dozen years prior to Tesuque Stucco Company, LLC involvement. Although Tesuque Stucco Company, LLC does not typically engage in small jobs, was succumbed to her situation and fell empathetic given the discrepancies left by the previous applicator. An honest effort was put forth to address the issues set forth in the repair contract. Part of the repair contract constituted mending of cracks which had tangent off the corners of a few windows and garage door by sealing with urethane caulk and concealing with a synthetic finish. The remainder of work included stucco repair of a few miscellaneous locations on the home, as well as re-stucco of a small garden wall. Before contracting for the job and during the initial consultation with the owner, the assessment pointed out shrinkage and separation gaps of the vinyl windows from the poor plaster detail found throughout her home. As described to Mrs. [Member Name Removed] at that time, the solution for this would halve involved breaking out several inches of plaster around the perimeter of each affected window, install a casing bead, then conduct plaster repair, and seal with caulk. The problem with this kind of job is that unless the wall is refinished corner to corner, a localized repair will result with the stucco having a conspicuous and possibly unsightly finished quality, as localized repairs never blend perfectly to the surrounding stucco. Reconstructing the plaster detail to address the gaps for the vinyl windows, then refinishing complete walls corner to corner did not appeal to Mrs [Member Name Removed]. She was only interested in doing as minimal a job possible, as her desire is to sell the home. Furthermore, there was no language supporting that kind of effort as part of the repair contract. Once the repair job was completed, a statement was issued and mailed to Mrs. [Member Name Removed], and of which was summarily paid. In return, Mrs. [Member Name Removed] received a repair warranty which stated the terms. In bold print the warranty clearly cites exclusion of cracking as a part of the warranty. In general, all plaster is susceptible to surface cracks due to the rigid nature of stucco and given inherent and continual movement of wood frame construction via thermal expansion and contraction. Several months lapsed pursuant the completion of the initial work undertaken by Tesuque Stucco Company, LLC and before the garage window became an issue with the client. Before an impasse with the client became immanent concerning the garage window, a secondary estimate was provided for the additional repair work, and sent in a one page letter. Mrs. [Member Name Removed] appeal at large is purely an attempt to shame us into completing more work than was agreed upon, do so without further compensation, and more importantly to tarnish our reputation."
"Thank you [Member Name Removed] for your A review and kind words! We are very pleased you and [Member Name Removed] are happy with the stucco work on your home and hope that you will have many years of enjoyment to come."
This is the most calculatingly dishonest company I've ever encountered. The Anthony and Martin show is sleazy. Anthony promises you the world. He describes Tesuque's standard process in explicit detail. No need to specify the details because they want to meet with you at every work day's end to assure everything is good. After you sign, you'll never see Anthony again. EVERY promise he makes is a lie. Nothing that he promises is standard. After Tesuque trashes your house and property, Martin will show up and tells you over and over again that (1) it's not in the contract; (2) there is no way Anthony would have promised you something that's not in their standard process (despite the fact that you probably don't know anything about stucco and have no basis for any expectation other than what he promised you); and (3) nothing is their fault.
We have an awning. Anthony assured us they could work with it. Anthony also promised us that they hand-trowel the final coat. They don't spray. Our awning looks like it has measles. It's covered with overspray spots. Martin had the audacity to lie to my face and tell me that they don't spray. Like we couldn't look up and see the evidence. They permanently scored the planks on our deck by dragging patio furniture and planters around. Martin's excuse was that they were heavy. I'm sorry! A bucket/bag of stucco weighs more than 50 pounds. They can't lift a flower pot?
In summary, they cut corners and do sub-quality work. We had to get them to come back three subsequent days to fix gaps in texture and coloration. They (Anthony) told it would take 7-10 days to do our job. They "did" it in four. Martin had the gall to claim that the three days of complaint-driven touch up work plus the four days into which they'd compressed the main job was the seven days Anthony originally estimated. Bottom line: when you challenge them, they make excuses or blame your expectations.
I'm only writing this because we refused to be bought off for pennies on the dollar and Tesuque has worked to suppress our voice. They've wiped out my wife's comments. Now they'll try to silence mine.
These guys aren't sloppy or careless. They're calculatingly dishonest. Avoid them for your own good.
"Tesuque Stucco Company, LLC has garnered a reputation in the industry and general public at large for completing quality work, and utilizing the most premium products available on the market to date. Tesuque Stucco Company, LLC has undertaken literally thousands of jobs related to the stucco and plastering arena, and has maintained at a minimum an A to A plus rating with the BBB since its inception with the organization. All perspective jobs are priced on the basis of surface area, surface conditions, and type of stucco materials specified for a given project. Consequentially, the more surface area present in a given job, or energy needed to complete as specified amount of repair, then the potential for greater costs to complete a given job. The aforementioned project was one completed with a repair and re-stucco over traditional cement stucco with a high performance synthetic stucco product and system. All re-stucco projects undertaken by Tesuque Stucco Company, LLC are always completed by hand or hand trowel applied to yield best possible performance and aesthetics. With all due respect to Mr. and Mrs. [Member Name Removed], damage was done to the deck and awning. Concessions were made in the form of financial reciprocity to the owners, and those adjustments were taken off the final bill. The last thing a service provider to the community at large desires is to have a disgruntled client at the end of a given job. The issues with the client were not resultant per say of a lack of supervision. Each crew is staffed with a crew chief, then a project manager/coordinator (if not the owner) who periodically inspects all job sights at various times throughout the job to insure a safe job site, and that quality control is being applied and undertaken by the crew. With respect to this given project, both personalities as well as the sales manager made at least one to several stops at the job site. Regretfully mishaps can occur regardless of the situation. As such, a written apology, gift certificate, as well as financial compensation were rendered to the homeowners in light of the issues encountered. In retrospect, the awning cover should have been removed or partially dismantled so as to avoid splattering of stucco on the cover, and done so by a professional. Whereas with the deck and the heavy potted plants which were placed on square wood frames with caster rollers, perhaps then the home owners should have moved them away from the home, and to allow for the re-stucco process to unfold. Or at least mentioned their preference for the plants to not be rolled around on the Treks deck. The owners have expressed their displeasure with Tesuque Stucco Company, LLC and the end result of the job, and that is their right. Albeit the issues at hand may not be recoverable in the eyes of the homeowners, the durability and finished quality of the stucco job is assuredly one built to last and withstand the test of time."
Their crew showed up on the given day. When we worked with Martin, the owner, we expressed how we had the stucco redone about 5 years before and used some people that said they knew how to stucco. The stucco was separating from the wall, was badly cracked, and was in very bad shape. That was a mistake. I expressed that I wanted his crew to feel free to cut back as much shrubbery as needed to get to the walls, and to dig down a few inches to seal the walls down to the stem wall. The crew did an incredible prep job. I had recently had an additional garage put onto the house and had a seam that, although smooth, was noticeable. They took extra care to put mesh seal over that and on any of the major cracks in the house and wall.
When they returned a couple days later, their crew was professional. I was amazed how quickly they got through the entire house. I noticed a small gap on one of the canales that could cause issues if water got in and pointed it out to the foreman. He actually got a ladder and fixed it himself. These guys knew what they were doing.
My house looks outstanding! I waited several months to post a review to see how the winter and wet season (if you can call it that) affected the worksmanship. Not a single issue. They also were great working with the roofers who had come in a couple weeks ahead of them to make sure all was sealed nicely with the flat roof.
If anything happens in the next few years, I'll let you know how the warranty service works out, but so far, they've been great and I love the results.
The documents arrived in a timely manner. They were acceptable as drafted. They were signed and returned via snail mail along with a requested $500 deposit. The work, which was weather dependent, was scheduled by telephone.
On the date scheduled the crew, accompanied by Martin, showed up on time. They were very professional completing the first phase of the work in a timely manner. Clean-up was well done and aside from expected physical changes to the wall you would never have known they were on the property.
Repairs were allowed to cure for approximately 4 weeks. It was then time to cover the wall with the finish cat which contains pigment that matches the new stucco with the stucco on the remainder of the home. Again this work weather dependent.
The crew and Martin arrived early on the appointed day and went right to work. Again they did a professional job, cleaned up and aside from a beautifully finished wall you would never know they were on site.
We received a two year limited warranty and are very satisfied with the work that was done.
