"Mario, the owner/plumber was pleasant, professional, efficient, and competent. He patiently answered questions; maintained covid19 safety procedures; and was informative about best plumbing practices. I was impressed."

"The installer worked way past normal business hours to get my new toilet installed. He demonstrated great care for my home throughout the entire process, even cleaning under the toilet prior to installing the new one. He also cleaned up after he was done and made sure everything was to my liking before he left."

"Arrived on time, and repaired the leaking pipe under my kitchen sink. He's personable, and easy to talk to. Randy didn't talk down to me, he explained everything that was wrong and what needed to be done to fix it. When he was finished he made sure all areas around where he worked was cleaned up before he left. When I have more plumbing problems I will be calling Randy again, I highly recommend him!!!"

"It felt that the company wanted the customer to pay more than the actual cost of the job. For example, to fix a water bleed in the toilet tank ABQ Heating and Cooling quoted ~$300 for fixing it while I got another company to fix the issue for less than $150."

"Matthew Jaramillo did an excellent job replacing the gasket on my leaking home toilet. He found several other minor problems with the toilet and fixed those also. All in all he provided the best service of any plumber that I have experienced in the 55 + years that I have lived in Albq. Based on the rather many plumbers I have used during that time I would highly recommend NCB and especially Matthew for any of your plumbing needs."

"The kitchen sink fell out at my Mom's house and we obviously needed attention to it right away. NAG plumbing was able to fit us into their schedule and Nick was done fixing it in an hour or so. We're super grateful to him. Nick's a good guy. We're putting him on speed dial for any future plumbing issues."

Toilets questions, answered by experts

Technically, you can put an elongated toilet seat on a round toilet, but it’s not a good idea. Elongated toilet seats are a few inches longer than round toilets, so they will hang over the front edge of your toilet, which isn’t appealing. Additionally, an unsupported toilet seat or portion of a toilet seat is more likely to crack and shift, which could result in injury to whoever uses the toilet. Always match your toilet seat style to your toilet, or replace the toilet entirely if you’re looking to switch styles.

You should choose the type of toilet that meets your budget, fits properly in your space, and matches the rest of your decor. If you’ve never gone toilet shopping before, you might be surprised at how many options are available. Most homeowners choose a two-piece toilet, which is the industry standard, and a gravity flush system is the most common. However, dual-flush and low-flush toilets are becoming more prevalent as more people become conscious of water consumption.

If a toilet is not properly vented, you could experience issues like poor drainage, slow flushing, frequent clogs, malfunctioning traps, gurgling noises, and the release of sewer gasses. If left untreated, all of these issues could lead to longer term structural damage or (in the case of sewer gasses) harmful health side effects.

If you experience the telltale sign of wax ring failure, which is leaking water, replacing the faulty ring takes one to three hours, depending on accessibility. This is an exacting and time-consuming job, as several components must be removed for the plumber to access the ring. Once replaced, however, wax rings require little to no maintenance and last 30 years or longer.

Yes, you should screw your flange to the subfloor, including cement. The best way to get this done is to predrill holes into the concrete using a hammer drill and a ¼-inch concrete bit. Be careful when you’re ready to bolt your flange down, as you can accidentally crack it. You can avoid this issue by not installing the screws too deep. Or, you can opt for a flange with a stainless steel ring so you don’t have to worry about cracking the plastic.
