"I hired AHS Landscaping to clean my front and back yards, prune my trees and shrubs, and clean my rain gutters. The service they provided went beyond all expectations. I can honestly say that I have never had this high level of service from the other providers that I have hired in the past. They were on schedule, quick, and very efficient. I highly recommend them for you yard maintenance needs."

"G came out within one hour of my submitting the request for a quote to Angie's List! He did an amazing job with my overgrown yard and went above and beyond to make it look nice. He worked fast and the price was excellent. Would definitely hire him for more yard projects!"

Customers say: Terrific value

"Matt and his crew were excellent! Always arrived promptly, worked so hard I was a little worried (it was 100+ out!) and cleaned up after themselves beautifully -- that was just the FIRST project for MY place, then my daughter hired them to reconfigure existing fencing to enlarge her back yard, put in irrigation, weed barrier and pea gravel. The extra little touches added by this great crew (shout out to Sparky, Jacob, Kaden and "Psychedelic Tom Selleck LOL), like shoring up her pumpkin patch with found bricks etc. to retain water, were just wonderful. This team is the best and I have SO many more projects for them! Oh, did I mention how reasonable the pricing was? Well there, I did. Beat all other quotes hands-down."

Customers say: True professional

"We are thrilled with the completion of our yard. We hired Eric and SummerSweet Landscaping because he was the only degree horticulturist who owns a landscaping business that I could find in Albuquerque. We knew nothing about plants for NM, so we wanted an expert, and he is one. We walked the greenhouse together to select plants. It was a very good experience. His guys have been with him for many years. They are extremely knowledgeable about all aspects from irrigation to hardscapes. There are a lot of fly-by-night cheap guys in NM, but they won't be around to fix what breaks. You can find cheaper or more expensive, but you will get what you pay for. Eric has clients from years back and he also has the governor's mansion as a client. He will draw professional plans for you and your HOA at no additional cost, which few here will do."

Small jobs welcome

"Very professional, punctual, and efficient in doing the work I needed to have done. He went the extra mile to close up openings in wood fence that I needed to really stabilize everything and keep animals (skunks) out of my yard. Did a nice cleanup job after the repair work was done."

Lawns questions, answered by experts

Land-clearing projects often take professionals one to two days to complete, but your timeframe can get much longer—sometimes up to a week or more—if you need your pros to clear a large section of land, grind down multiple large trees below the ground, or clear especially dense or heavy materials, like landscaping boulders and brush. A land-clearing expert will usually give you an accurate timeline along with your quote to help you better plan your project.

Ultimately, pulling weeds vs. spraying them depends on what’s happening in your yard and your personal preferences. Manual weed removal doesn’t introduce any chemicals into your landscape, targets specific problematic plants, produces immediate results, can be free if you go the DIY route, and is inexpensive with a weed service if you only have a handful of weeds. On the other hand, spraying is often preferable for severe weed infestations and situations involving difficult-to-pull weeds because it treats multiple weeds at once, is usually more effective long-term, is less time-consuming, and costs less when done by a pro.

Using a leaf blower is often the easiest way to pick up leaves. It quickly and efficiently gathers leaves into manageable piles, requiring less physical effort than manual raking. Additionally, you can choose to bag the collected leaves or use a mulching mower to break them down into natural mulch, simplifying the cleanup process further.

Armadillos are attracted to water, so a leaky irrigation system or an overwatered lawn can encourage them to move in. They especially like wet areas where they can burrow and loose soil where they can dig for grubs. They are also attracted to dense ground cover, where they can often find food sources.

The easiest way to remove bushes is first to cut the bush down. You may need to use a handsaw, pruning shears, or a chainsaw for thicker branches. Once you’ve removed most of the branches, you can then cut the base of the shrub as low to the ground as you can get. Then, with a shovel, dig around until you expose the roots. Dig out the roots, being careful not to leave any roots in the soil.
