"Very well. Jacob explained that our one drain was slow because the pipe which had been installed 24 years ago was too small to handle all the runoff and associated soapy water from that sink and the washing machine. Suggested occasionally running empty washer on hot to help with this problem."

"Anthony and his crew are great people who know what they are doing. They came to my house with what was supposed to be something routine like snaking the drain to clear it, however they found the source of the problem and fixed the nightmare of a septic system that was just installed by someone else. I would recommend Anthony for any plumbing or HVAC work that you need immediately or just routine service call N&Js."

"We were very impressed with Jerome and liked his vision for our back yard.  He prepared the initial estimate before leaving.  The labor required to install the drip system down the sides of our home was very demanding and we felt the estimate was very fair.  Once we decided to go with Alliance, Jerome came back out and was very willing to go over everything and clarify any questions we had.  He was very creative and had really good ideas to solve our needs.  Jerome and his crew showed up as scheduled.  The crew was professional, polite and did an excellent job.  They paid attention to details and did a lot of little extras which were above and beyond.  After the job was completed I noticed a gurgling noise and water coming from under the gravel outside of the garden box.  I called Jerome and his men came out that same evening and fixed the problem.  A couple of weeks later one of the buried drip lines broke and again the guys came by the same day on their way home from another job and fixed it.  I could not be happier with my new yard, irrigation system, and the quality of professionalism provided by Jerome and his crew.."

French Drains questions, answered by experts

While technically possible, it is unlikely that a clogged toilet will fix itself. Clogs caused by water-soluble materials like toilet paper or human waste may eventually break down in the water, allowing flow to resume. However, this can take time, and any clogs from solid objects require manual removal. In most scenarios, especially if you don't have another bathroom, it is best to fix the clog yourself or call a plumber.

That pungent rotten egg smell coming from your drain is likely the buildup of biofilm—hair, skin, and soap scum that turns into a black sticky mess. In this case, pouring down near-boiling water, baking soda, and white vinegar will remove the smell. Keep in mind that a rotten egg smell is occasionally a sign of larger sewage line clogs and other related issues.

First, find the cleanout pipe in your yard. Unscrew the cap—you may need a wrench to do so. Then, get a drain snake. You can use a non-motorized one, but a motorized snake will make the job a little easier. Feed the snake through the pipe until it reaches the clog. Spin the snake continuously, but don’t try to feed it through the pipe anymore. Keep spinning until you feel it break the clog apart.

To keep your toilet from clogging, you can use less toilet paper. You can also use a liquid toilet plunger to break up any clogs and keep the toilet drain and pipes clear. When it comes to a clogged toilet, the best route is prevention by using less toilet paper and making sure the mechanisms are all working properly.

As a preventative measure, hydro jetting should be done every one to two years. However, the best practice is to hydro jet your sewer line once per year. The ideal frequency depends on several factors, including the age and condition of your pipes, how prone they are to clogging, how often the sewer line is used, and the type of waste disposed of in the system. If you frequently experience clogs or are unsure, it's best to ask a licensed plumber for a recommendation specific to your plumbing system.
