Small jobs welcome

"Scott is very experienced and he knew what to do with an electrical problem that I had. Opposed to other electricians, Scott knew exactly what was wrong. He did a good job and I am especially impressed with his honesty. Scott didn't use scare tactics or try to talk me into other unneeded electrical work."

"As a Building & General Contractor myself Newgrange electric is one of my best electrical sub contractors. Eddie the owner is very hard working. Always reliable, extremely professional and maintains an office manager Nicole who knows what's going on, on all their projects so you always have someone to contact during business hours. Eddies crew is based of long time employees that are very knowledgeable in there work. Eddie will always get back to you even after business hours, which is not the norm for many vendors. We need more contractors like this. Joe Algeri, Orchard Builders & Construction & Skyline Plumbing & Heating."

"We had an issue in our house, with some of our electricity being off and some remaining on. we were told, on the phone, that it could be one of a few things. Don and Pat came the next day, promptly at the time we were told. They checked out the system and told us that it was a line issue. Don told us that PSE&G should take the amount of his bill off our electrical bill. His bill was reasonable, even if we weren't able to have it deducted. We would hire DLP again."

"I knew I needed to get a new circuit board because the old one kept blowing out. Antonio Ferrao sent his truck over within hours of my call and his men inspected my old circuit board and showed me the problem circuit breakers and even the discolored area around one which was heating up. They gave me a quote with 10% off if I could pay cash. I hired them. They came the next day, and kindly kept my generator on so I could have electricity while they shut off the main line to change the circuit board. They were fast, efficient, labeled all the new circuit breakers, and cleaned up completely. I would recommend them to anyone."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

For a thorough inspection routine in Wayne, check GFCI outlets and test smoke detectors each spring, inspect outdoor lighting and extension cords in summer, review wiring for heating systems in fall, and monitor attic and basement circuits during winter. Pay special attention to older homes or those with recent renovations. Scheduling a professional electrical inspection every few years helps ensure your system remains safe and compliant with local standards.

Helpful?

When reviewing quotes in Wayne, be cautious if a contractor avoids providing a detailed written estimate or omits mention of necessary permits. Watch for unusually low bids, lack of proof of insurance, or reluctance to share local references. Reliable electricians will address Wayne’s code requirements, outline the full project scope, and explain the timeline clearly—avoid anyone who pressures you to commit immediately or insists on cash-only payments.

Helpful?

To enhance electrical safety for families in Wayne, install tamper-resistant receptacles and GFCI outlets in areas prone to moisture. Use sliding outlet covers and secure cords behind furniture to prevent access by children and pets. Place electrical panels in locked or high locations, and ensure all outdoor outlets are weatherproofed. For added peace of mind during Wayne’s winter storms, invest in whole-home surge protection and regular grounding checks.

Helpful?

In Wayne, urgent electrical issues include outlets that spark, persistent burning odors, breakers that trip repeatedly, or lights that flicker unexpectedly—these should be addressed without delay, especially before winter. Upgrades like adding outlets or new fixtures can typically be scheduled, but don’t postpone repairs if you notice exposed wires or warm outlets. Outdoor electrical work is best planned for milder seasons to avoid weather complications.

Helpful?

Homes in Wayne with finished basements, multiple additions, or unique layouts like split-levels often present wiring challenges. Properties built before the 1980s may have outdated panels or aluminum wiring, which can complicate upgrades. Long distances to detached garages or historic district guidelines can also add complexity. If your home has these features, consult a local electrician experienced with Wayne’s building codes for tailored solutions.
