"I had an electrical issue in my kitchen and the power to main floor went out. I ended up having a back switch that needed to be replaced. I was quickly contacted to understand the issue, and DLP Electric was willing to come out today, however I had already just hired a technician from another company to handle (right before I spoke to DLP). Having said that, DLP Electric was professional and very helpful, and I would hire them if I ever needed electric work performed in my house. Great customer service and very responsive."

"We had an excellent experience with this electrician at our 120,000 sq ft office building. He came out to perform repairs and upgrades on our electrical systems and delivered truly professional, high‑quality workmanship from start to finish. His knowledge, attention to detail, and clear communication made the entire process smooth and efficient. It’s not easy finding someone who can handle large‑scale commercial electrical work with this level of skill and reliability. He showed up on time, worked safely, and made sure everything was done correctly the first time. I highly recommend him for any commercial or residential electrical needs. Outstanding service and professionalism"

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Electrical systems in Clifton benefit from annual GFCI outlet testing, especially before storm season. Inspect outdoor outlets and lighting after winter for weather-related damage. For older homes, schedule yearly checks of panels and outlets to confirm proper grounding and safe connections. Regularly test backup generators and ensure surge protectors are functioning to help protect your home’s electrical system during power fluctuations.

Helpful?

In Clifton, making electrical projects safer for families starts with installing tamper-resistant outlets and using secure outlet covers in play areas. For pet safety, keep cords organized with cord protectors and avoid leaving loose wires within reach. Choose GFCI outlets in kitchens, bathrooms, and laundry rooms to reduce shock risks. Motion-sensor lights in hallways and staircases can also help prevent nighttime accidents for both children and pets.

Helpful?

The longevity of electrical work in Clifton depends on using materials rated for the area’s temperature swings and humidity. Hiring experienced professionals familiar with local conditions ensures proper installation. Selecting weather-resistant components for outdoor use and planning for future upgrades, like smart home features, can extend system life. Regular inspections and addressing issues in older wiring also contribute to long-term reliability and safety.

Helpful?

In Clifton, overloading outlets with high-demand devices, using extension cords as permanent solutions, and neglecting to address basement humidity can all reduce the lifespan of your electrical system. Allowing trees or shrubs to block outdoor equipment and letting gutters overflow may expose wiring to moisture. Skipping regular inspections and ignoring frequent breaker trips can also lead to premature wear and potential safety concerns.

Helpful?

Homeowners in Clifton often underestimate the complexity of electrical projects, leading to issues like improper wiring connections or using the wrong gauge wire. Overlooking the need for GFCI outlets in damp areas and failing to upgrade old panels for modern appliances are common errors. Ignoring signs of outdated wiring, especially in older homes, can result in safety hazards and unreliable power for today’s technology needs.
