"Great work by Marcin; he gutted the old tile floors in the kitchen and replaced with new hardwood floors complete with leveling as well as updating our living room floor; meticulous and professional dude. He also gave us care instructions for our new wood floors. Overall would recommend him and his company"

Customers say: Quality work

"My expectations for any business that provides a service is to do a job and complete it. That in itself was done. Perhaps it was a warning sign when a couple days before my project was to start, I receive a phone call mentioning that $400 charge to remove carpet was NOT included on the original quote provided, Rich "forgot". The note to remove it was on the invoice, the charge to do so was not. I forgave the issue and mentioned to include it in an updated invoice, I should had said no. My issues surround the "professional" part of the job. My expectations for strangers/contractors that enter my home, is to respect it and not leave dents in walls that had none before, leave hand prints on walls during the project, have paint ripped off pristine, newly painted walls and above all else, damage any part of a home. Upon ripping up carpet, the workers broke t-molding in 3 pieces between my kitchen and dining room. Below you can see the pictures of the things mentioned above. It is one thing for the men working in the home to advise of damage (which Victor did to my wife), but I don't feel the project manager told his boss, Rich, about it - I had to leave a voicemail and provide e-mail evidence. Rich's response was that he couldn't believe that his men would do such a thing. "In 30 years of doing this, no one ever mentioned this to me" was the response I received. Now if I had not spoken up about this issue, would Oak Tree have done anything to resolve it - or would it have been swept under the rug (or tossed in the kitchen as it was done for me) ? The re-paint job that Rich did himself (the reason he was unable to get a professional painter in the area to do the work was because the painting contractor couldn't give him a definitive date to look at the job and fix what Rich's men screwed up) was lack luster to say the least. I had to paint over the job he attempted to do because of the many missed sections on the wall and around the doorway. The job was done and I paid for it because that's what you're supposed to do but to have my home disrespected in the way it was, does not sit well with me. What's even worse is a day after mentioning the hand prints to Rich, he showed up at my house to survey the damage (AFTER his men left for the day) and accused my wife of basically lying because the hand prints were no longer on the wall as well as they were in the pictures - his men did a shotty job of removing it because you could still see the outline of the prints on the wall). Bottom line, the work I asked to be done, was completed. The floors look fine as expected, but the lack of professionalism from the workers and the damage done has left an extremely bad taste in my mouth and I will not recommend them to anyone else because I would never want their homes damaged the way I feel mine was."

"Simon and crew did a great job leveling our subfloor and installing a floating vinyl tile floor. All work done in a single day. I appreciated his thoroughness in checking the leveling of the subfloor, which other pros did not do. Thanks!"

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

You can buy inexpensive kitchen flooring off the shelf at most home improvement stores with the best prices offered by big-box chain stores. Be aware, though, that not all flooring materials are suitable for DIY installation. Most flooring contractors can buy your flooring at a discount, so be sure to check with your contractor before buying your flooring materials.

With proper care and maintenance, hardwood floors can last for decades or even centuries. Solid hardwood and tropical wood, in particular, have the potential to be sanded and refinished multiple times, extending their lifespan. However, the longevity of hardwood floors also depends on factors such as the wood species, quality of installation, and the level of foot traffic in that area of your home.

Yes. When installed properly, the strong adhesive on carpet tiles keeps them in place while also allowing homeowners the flexibility to peel up an individual tile and replace it if they need to. It’s important to keep in mind that the adhesive on your carpet tiles may take some time to cure, so it’s best to leave them alone for a couple of days after you first install them.

Yes, you can put rugs and carpet on heated floors. However, carpet is not the most efficient for heated floors. The carpet pad and pile can prevent the heat from penetrating into the room. Rugs may also prevent heat from reaching your feet. You will get the most from your heated floors if you use thin rugs so that a maximum amount of heat can penetrate the room. You may find you do not need rugs to warm a space, thanks to the radiant heat coming up through your feet.

For rooms with an even number of feet (10 x 12, for example), you can technically just multiply them together to get the number of square feet in the room (10 feet x 12 feet = 120 sq. ft.). For irregularly shaped rooms or areas that aren’t even square feet, converting to inches will be your best bet for an accurate measurement.
