"The patio install is fabulous. I asked about a patio install quote on Wednesday and it was installed on Saturday in only 7 hours. Nicolas was easy to get in touch with, had excellent communication, understood our needs, and most of all did top notch work and installed a beautiful patio! If you need a paver patio installed, I highly recommend Nicolas Hardscapes!"

"We really enjoyed working with David Weeks from 2D Professionals, LLC. David and his men did a great job laying pavers for a patio and installing footing for patio cover. We were kept informed during the process and are happy with their work. We would certainly recommend 2D Professionals, LLC."

"Amazing work and level of professionalism every step of the way. We had completed bids with various potential contractors for a sizable amount of hardscaping and additional work for a new property that we just moved into. Our yard was a terrible mess with an unsafe walkway with tons of roots and stumps in various places with old rotting railway ties used to create borders and barriers to control water. Needless to say it all needed to be removed and redone with all new landscaping and stonework to extend decking around a pool with cobble pavers, put in a cobble paver patio, two walkways, and wide stone stairs all wide enough to accommodate a wheelchair to get to our pool. Right off the bat I really liked Woody. We hit it off well and while they were initially a bit higher than some of the others who bid on it they contacted me to work out a schedule of work that would fit within my budget. There were some minor delays getting our job started but once things began the team was on site every day during the entire time working hard. The final product is just simply amazing. Highly recommend these guys for all of your landscaping and/or hardscaping needs."

Patios questions, answered by experts

While there is no one size that’s considered best, the sunroom size that’s best for you will come down to the size of your home and how you want to use your sunroom. Smaller sunrooms under 120 square feet provide a nice semi-outdoor sitting area, medium-sized sunrooms between 120 and 200 square feet can house an outdoor dining area and a small area for additional seating, and large sunrooms over 200 square feet can serve multiple purposes and even include an outdoor kitchen.

Yes, you can build a sunroom addition to your home despite living in a cold climate. Make sure to use high-quality insulation and windows and to supplement with sufficient heating from your HVAC system. The windows in the sunroom allow enough natural light into the room to help heat it most times without having to use the furnace. Even a small electric fireplace can heat the sunroom well enough.

If you have multiple rooms that could use some organization, home storage solutions like cubbies in your mudroom or built-in shelving can help you move clutter off the floor. Take it one step further by pairing shelves and cabinets with personalized aesthetic touches like woven or canvas lined metal baskets to add another organizational element.

Yes, porches require foundations. The type of foundation required, however, is determined by the type and use of the porch. For example, a screened-in porch won’t require a new cement foundation. However, if you turn your porch into a sunroom or plan on making it a living space, then chances are you need a foundation that’s more permanent than piers and posts.

A lanai is a covered patio with open walls, while a Florida room has sides made of mesh screens or windows, with or without partial low walls. In addition, lanais often use concrete or other patio flooring, while Florida rooms may have more indoor-style flooring like tile or wood. Both allow you to enjoy the outdoors without being in the direct sun, but a lanai doesn’t offer any barrier against insects or debris.
