"Excellent Aire Serve is a awesome company. Billy Bullard recommended a first rate Lennox heat pump for a low price. The Technicians were on time, very polite, and worked hard. They actually stayed over until the job is done. I am extremely happy with my new Lennox system, and would definitely recommend Aire Serve to anyone."

"I would absolutely recommend Cool Comfort Heating & Air Company.  I have dual systems installed by them in my home.  They replaced one of them in the spring last year.  They are the only ones I use.  I would continue to use them in the future."

"With over 15 years experience with Bradham Bros. the purchase, paperwork, installation and system startup all went well. Important as well, I received a Piedmont Natural Gas rebate check and 0% financing for 60 months."

"Garrett arrived on time and was attentive to resolving our issues with getting two toilets refurbished/replaced that were damaged by Lowes installation services technicians. He also evaluated the installation of the toilet that was installed. We have not had any work done yet. I will update after we have received the estimates and the projects have been completed."

"Outstanding service. Bryan was the technician and he was very professional, on-time, an even though it was not an emergency situation (heat was working, just loudly), he called around to find the part and have it installed within a few hours. Was so impressed, I asked them to provide periodic service on my heat pump unit."

Install Boiler questions, answered by experts

The main difference between an outdoor wood furnace versus an outdoor wood boiler is what each appliance is heating. An outdoor wood furnace burns wood to create heat, which warms the air and moves it through the ducts in your home. An outdoor wood boiler uses the heat from burning wood to warm water, which goes through pipes to radiators in the home.

An HVAC system typically lasts between 10 and 30 years, with an average lifespan of 15 to 25 years. The longevity of the system is influenced by factors such as the quality of the unit, usage frequency, local climate, and how well it is maintained. Regular maintenance, including cleaning, filter replacements, and professional inspections, can help maximize its lifespan. Different components within the system have varying life expectancies. For example:

  • Furnaces: 15 to 30 years

  • Boilers: 20 to 35 years

  • Air Conditioners (AC units): 12 to 20 years

  • Heat Pumps: 10 to 20 years

  • Ductless Mini-Splits: 10 to 30 years

The average cost to replace or install a new HVAC system is around $7,500. However, the price can range from $5,000 to $12,500, depending on factors like the size of your home, the type and brand of the unit, and your specific heating and cooling needs. If you only need to replace certain components, the cost will be lower; for example, a new AC unit can cost between $2,200 and $5,500, while a new furnace costs $3,200 to $6,000. If additional work like new ductwork is required, the total cost could be as high as $22,000. It's best to contact a local HVAC company for an accurate quote.

Costs depend on system size, efficiency rating, and additional features like zoning or smart controls.

A furnace takes in cool air, heats it through the burner and heat exchanger, and sends the air on its way to warm your home. A boiler is a pressurized vessel that produces hot water or steam to heat the home and provide hot water. A boiler may or may not work together with a furnace.
