"All around great service, very professional and straight forward experience. From evaluation of roof condition and or damage, to working with the insurance adjuster to help determine replacement over repair options, Dunlop Roofing was top notch and did a wonderful job installing my new roof in just one day. An awesome company that I fell comfortable recommending."

"This was a fortified complete roof install and repair in several areas. The company did an excellent job in following my requirements along with the terms of installation of the NC Joint Underwriting Association. "Totally happy with this experience! Miguel is a professional and nice to work with! I will hire him again!!! My project was small, I knew I needed a carpenter and had not had any luck finding one. Miguel’s crew knew what they were doing, were professional and efficient! This was a good experience!! We had an interior antique window installed in an opening in a wall. We also needed trim to close the gap under a new dishwasher. Both projects turned out great!!"

"Great honest contractors. They did my bathrooms, hot water heater, unclogged my house drain and they did a French drain so my basement is not wet anymore. I already hired them to do my whole roof in the spring. I will hire them anytime."

Roofing questions, answered by experts

Roofing estimates vary for many reasons, but the most significant ones include differences in the cost of labor based on the contractor’s experience and overhead costs, as well as the quality of the materials your roofer will use for the job. You should get your estimates itemized and make sure your contractors include details about the materials they plan on using. Doing so allows you to compare not only based on the cost but also the value that you’ll get for your money.

Clay tile roofing is common for traditional villas, while flat roofs are more standard for modern villa homes. Clay tile roofs are long-lasting, require little maintenance, and are great for warmer climates. Flat roofs are usually low-cost, energy-efficient, and allow for rooftop gardens.

Many roofers remove satellite dishes as part of their services, especially during roof repairs or replacements. However, they typically won’t reconnect or reinstall the dish. If you no longer need the dish, roofers can dispose of it, but for reuse, you may need a satellite technician to handle reinstallation.

No, there’s no specific building code that requires a roof overhang. However, installing your roof with the standard 2-inch overhang is good practice, as it helps direct runoff away from your fascia boards and roof decking and into your gutters. Some overhang is especially important in areas that see heavy rainfall and snowfall, as the risk of water getting under the roofing material and causing water damage is much higher.

Yes, clay and concrete tile roofs will keep your home cooler in the summer for two reasons. First, the material has low heat conductivity, so heat transfer from the sunlight and the outside air to your home will be very slow. Additionally, tile roofs have air gaps between the tiles and the roof decking, which helps further insulate your structure from heat gain. Light-colored tile is especially energy-efficient and will minimize how much outside heat transfers into your home.
