"Jason knew that I was in a time crunch. He promptly responded on a Wednesday, gave me the estimate, and then showed up on Saturday. Work was fast and efficient. I can rest assured, knowing that my roof will not leak this winter."

"All around great service, very professional and straight forward experience. From evaluation of roof condition and or damage, to working with the insurance adjuster to help determine replacement over repair options, Dunlop Roofing was top notch and did a wonderful job installing my new roof in just one day. An awesome company that I fell comfortable recommending."

I havent actually used him because the job required to be scheduled for October 21,, 2019. "UPDATED: He is willing to work around the weather and does a great job. Does a great job when available. HOWEVER, was to have hired him back this spring for pressure wash of house and application of special cleaner to the gutters to remove all dirt and fungus (what is referred to as Zebra Striping). As I had not been contacted I contacted him... and he is no longer able to do the job due to prior commitments."

Roofing questions, answered by experts

Yes, gable vents can let water in. That being said, this usually only occurs during extreme conditions like heavy rainfall. You can prevent water from entering through gable vents by adding a screen that traps the water before it can enter.

Cool roofs last for roughly 15 to 30 years. You can install a cool roof coating over an existing roof, but keep in mind that this might not be worth it if your roof is near the end of its life expectancy. If your roof isn’t near the end of its life, adding a cool roof coating can make your existing roof more energy-efficient and help it last longer, so you’ll have to weigh the pros and cons.

Due to the complexity and weight of tiles, DIY is not recommended. Professional installation ensures proper alignment and durability.

Properly maintained roof decking can last between 20 and 30 years on average, though it varies based on a few factors. Mainly, the quality of roof decking materials and environmental conditions have the most impact on longevity. You can extend its lifespan by regularly inspecting your roof and making repairs as necessary.

The number of snow guards you’ll need on your roof depends on factors like the type of roof you have, its slope, the orientation of your home, and the snow load in your area. A local roofing professional or the snow guard manufacturer can help you determine the ideal amount.
