Furthermore, I looked up the possibility that it could have been hit by lightning or a power surge and found out that there is only about a 1% chance based on reported lightning and surge analysis. Also, it is impossible for a technician ( no matter how much experience he has) to be able to look at a unit and come to that conclusion. So, we agreed to replace the compressor and send the old one back to the manufacturer. I asked how much it would cost for the labor, was given one price and charged another. I asked about a credit for the first visit that did not fix the air conditioner and was told that I would be given a credit. However, when I came to their writing the bill, they refused to give me the credit that they had already said they would give me. I look at this as an out-right lie! How can you trust someone who lies to you? Not only this, but they told me that they would be coming at a certain time and did not show up. One day I called and asked if they were coming and was told, "oh, the part did not come in." Great we waited around all day and they did not have the decency to call and tell us they they would not be coming that day.
