"Knowledgeable of wallpaper and what to expect given the type of wallpaper installed. The wallpaper I had installed required glue and I was recommend the type to buy which made the process so much smoother. She did a wonderful job on my office wall and half bath wall. Very professional and her work is high quality!"

"These guys are GOOD. Neighbors and friends have commented how they cannot see the seems in the wallpaper at all. These guys have an eye for persnickety customers like me, and I approve. That takes a lot, coming from me."

"I have used Mr. Green in the past and used him this time to stain my porch. He was very responsive and professional and did a great job. I also appreciated how he cleaned up after he worked. Deb M."

"Excellent! Before Choosing Fidel I interviewed several other painting contractors. Fidel's estimate was highly competitive and I also found out he can perform other services such as installing new floors, plumbing, electrical and other general handyman tasks. I decided to hire Fidel (owner of Eddy's Painting) and have no regrets whatsoever. Fidel is very personable and professional and his crew did an excellent job on all tasks and in a very timely manner. I own 5 rental properties in Raleigh and I expect to use his services going forward. I highly recommend. Call Fidel for your next project. Regards Dave"

"Harrell Painting did an excellent job. They cleaned all the exterior surfaces of my house, being careful not to disturb the landscaping beds in the cleaning process. They did an excellent job painting all the surfaces. They used high quality materials for the job. They were on time every day and cleaned up at the end of each work day. I was extremely pleased with their work."

"The customer service was just as good as the painting itself. I would absolutely recommend this company & would definitely use them again. They also hung a ceiling g fan & repaired some work from an unfinished job from a previous provider. Very accommodating with schedules & professional."

Wallpapering questions, answered by experts

Yes, many types of peel-and-stick wallpaper can be used in bathrooms, especially those made of vinyl or polyester. However, its success depends heavily on the level of moisture and ventilation. In bathrooms with good ventilation, such as those with fans, it can be a durable option. Peel-and-stick wallpaper may not adhere as well as traditional wallpaper in very humid conditions. For bathrooms that see a lot of moisture, like a kids' bathroom or a full bath with a steamy shower and poor ventilation, even high-quality peel-and-stick wallpaper is likely to peel over time.

Options include bricks, natural stone, and concrete blocks. Choose based on durability, aesthetics, and budget.

Wallpaper lasts an average of around 15 years, but there is some variance. The type of wallpaper matters, as vinyl wallpaper tends to last the longest—sometimes 20 years or more—while a peel-and-stick wallpaper, which is the easiest to install for DIYers, will usually only last for around five years. Exposure to high humidity, smoke, and UV rays from sunlight can also limit the lifespan of your wallpaper, as can heavy traffic in the installation area.

You may end up with extra wallpaper once your project is finished. Hang on to that wallpaper, as you may need to use it to patch up areas that get damaged later on. If you have a lot of excess wallpaper, try getting creative with it. You can use it to line the inside of a cabinet or drawers, for example.

Many types of wallpaper exist, from removable peel-and-stick options to more permanent options that involve pasting. You can also find wallpaper that you can paint over, wallpaper with a texture, and wallpaper made from various materials, such as vinyl. Some types of wallpaper are washable, which can be a great option for kitchens or if your household has small children.
