Customers say: Quality work

"David from AB Drywall Repair was great! He was very communicative throughout the hole process, always answering any questions and sticking to his timeline. His work is priced right and he does an amazing job. We had him work on our garage and a room in our house. Both look amazing. Just choose AB if you need any drywall work done, you won't regret it. I will definitely be contacting him in the future if we need more work done on the house. Thanks David!"

Small jobs welcome

"Mike installed multiple rooms of drywall where we had taken down old paneling. He also patched multiple areas where electrical had been installed as well as scraped and plastered about 900 sq feet of popcorn ceiling. Excellent service and great communication. Highly recommend to anyone looking for drywall needs."

"Ernesto finished painting the exterior of our Victorian home yesterday and I couldn’t be happier with the quality of work that he and his crew did! He had given me a very fair estimate several months ago and was able to start the job a month before he had predicted. My husband and I were in awe with his amazing attention to detail and thoroughness of every step of the process. It was evident that he holds his employees to the same level of his own work ethics as they all worked very long days and did outstanding work! Ernesto is very personable, great with communication and extremely competent! We have already hired him to do some other jobs for us. I highly recommend his company if you want your painting job to be done in the very best way possible!"

Drywall questions, answered by experts

You should do a little bit of sanding between adding coats of mud. Knock down any ridges or significantly imperfect areas through sanding, which should help you apply the next coat of mud smoothly. If your first coat of mud is pretty smooth after it dries, a quick sanding is all you’ll need. Don’t forget to wipe away any dust after each sanding process.

There are some instances when you can use extra drywall in your garden. Ideally, unused scraps of new drywall are best for amending soil without the concern of additional chemicals or mold. However, drywall with paint, mold, or potential asbestos requires specialized disposal by a professional and should be kept out of your garden.

Drywalling a garage is a smart decision if you want to protect your garage from fires, moisture damage, and exterior noise. Most garages have flammable supplies that could result in serious damage in the off chance of an accident. Drywall is fire resistant, helping to prevent fires from spreading. Not to mention, drywall can improve the appearance of a dingy, old garage.

Mudding drywall is a DIY-friendly project, but patience and practice are required for perfection. If you’re working in a highly visible area and want the best possible finish, hiring a professional drywaller is worth the cost. Pros have the tools and know-how to ensure a smooth surface with fewer sanding sessions and less cleanup.

Although they are used for similar tasks, spackle and joint compound are not the same. Joint compound, also known as drywall mud, consists of limestone and gypsum and is primarily used for large-scale projects like taping and finishing seams on new drywall. Spackle is composed of gypsum and binding agents, making it a thicker compound best suited for small wall repairs like filling nail holes or cracks, as it dries quickly and is easy to sand. For small repairs, either product can be suitable. However, you can use joint compound for small jobs in place of spackle, but you cannot use spackle for large-scale taping and mudding projects.
