Customers say: True professional

"After calling the company that installed our HVAC system, they gave us an estimate for over $5600 because our unit was not under warranty. I found RPS on this site. Not only did he replace the evaporator coil but got it under warranty. He did need to replace a sensor as well but the total cost was only $1000, less than 1/5th of what the other company would have just for the coil. RPS Mechanical Services and Raymond are the best. Raymond is professional, quick working, knowledgeable, and honest. This will be our company from now on. Please save yourself time and money. Go with RPS Mechanical Services, LLC, you won’t be sorry!"

Nest Installation questions, answered by experts

Scorpions can be drawn to your home for a number of reasons, and it depends on the type of scorpion you’re finding. Often, scorpions check out moist areas that attract their prey, including insects like cockroaches, crickets, and moths. If you’re looking for scorpion hotbeds in your home, start with cold and damp places like crawl spaces, attics, or behind appliances.

Spiders love dark, quiet, and protected places, especially when it comes to laying their eggs. Egg sacs are hidden in small webs that you may find in rarely-used wall corners and ceilings. Spiders are somewhat more likely to lay egg sacs against a house or inside a home to preserve them from the elements. These egg sacs are very durable and can hatch in anywhere from a few weeks to a few months.

You might be tempted to call your local municipality to remove animals from your property, such as a groundhog burrowing in your yard or raccoons getting into your trash cans. However, they typically only remove domestic animals like dogs and cats from properties, or sick and injured wildlife that pose a public safety risk or health threat, such as a rabid animal. They typically do not capture or remove healthy wildlife.

Animal removal professionals have the tools, knowledge, and skills to trap and remove wild animals adequately and humanely. They also can relocate them correctly.

There are several ways to dry out flea eggs. Diatomaceous earth (DE) is a natural ingredient that can dry out fleas, but it’s messy to apply and can also cause respiratory issues for members of your household if inhaled. Salt is safer and easier to apply, so shake it liberally over affected areas. Boric acid is another way to get rid of fleas and other insects, but this, too, can cause respiratory issues and health problems if inhaled or ingested.

Cold winter months won’t always kill off fleas completely. Your home is typically warm enough for fleas to survive or, at least, for the eggs to lay dormant, ready to hatch when warmer weather arrives. Plus, waiting for the winter isn’t a good idea. The infestation will continue to grow, and fleas carry pathogens that can harm humans and pets.
