"Our experience with Mr Handyman was excellent. The cost was clearly described and the estimate/scheduling/billing were handled very professionally. Matt who gave the estimate and did the work was exceptional. Matt was always on time, worked very hard, was very meticulous and courteous. Matt was also very concerned that all the work was done to our satisfaction. We will definitely be using Mr Handyman again."

"He was unable to place the ventilator outside of my bathroom. He told me there was not enough room in my attic for them to install it there, but he could put it on the roof. He told me that was a normal process also and he would fix it so there was no leaking when it rained even though it was on the roof. I agreed and requested he make sure it was sealed to the roof so it would not be a leak, and he agreed and when finished stated there should never be a leak."

Customers say: True professional

"I was impressed with Raymond’s professionalism and knowledge and expertise relating to heating and air-conditioning. I asked a lot of different questions and he was kind enough to take several minutes to answer my questions and explain additional information to me so that I could make an informed decision. We decided to move forward with installing a second zone for the second floor in our two-story home, and Raymond was able to schedule the work within the week. Raymond was prompt and showed up at the times he said he would and completed the work in a professional manner. He put down tarps over our carpet so his trips in and out of the house did not cause any issues for our carpets. The fit and finish of the finished product looks professional, and even took an extra 30 minutes to show me his work, explain how it all works, and discussed various strategies for how I could/should operate my heating and air-conditioning system with this new second zone installed. Overall I’m a very satisfied customer and highly recommend this company! Thank you Raymond!"

Nest Installation questions, answered by experts

Spiders love dark, quiet, and protected places, especially when it comes to laying their eggs. Egg sacs are hidden in small webs that you may find in rarely-used wall corners and ceilings. Spiders are somewhat more likely to lay egg sacs against a house or inside a home to preserve them from the elements. These egg sacs are very durable and can hatch in anywhere from a few weeks to a few months.

The time it takes for termites to damage a house varies, but it generally does not happen within days or weeks. Significant structural damage typically takes several months or years to occur, with serious damage often taking 3 to 8 years. The rate of destruction depends on factors like the termite colony's size and maturity, the type of wood they are feeding on, and local conditions. It can take 3 to 5 years for damage to become visible and 5 to 6 years for the home's structural integrity to be compromised. However, some species, such as Subterranean termites, are more destructive and can cause extensive damage in as little as 2 years. Because of this risk, it is important to treat your home as soon as you notice any signs of termites.

Skunks spray as a defense mechanism to ward off predators. The active ingredient in their sulfurous, oily musk is n-butyl mercaptan, which evaporates into a powerful and smelly gas. Once the spray hits the skunk’s target, the stench can linger for days, and water and common cleaning kits aren’t enough to wash it away.

If you happen upon a skunk in your yard, try to back away slowly to reduce the chance of them aiming at you. Encouragingly, they don’t use their weapon casually, as it can take up to 10 days for their life-saving weaponry to refill. Paw stamping, hissing, lifting their tail, and arching their back are early signs they feel trapped or under threat and that it’s time to make a careful retreat.

If a coyote approaches you, never run away, even if it goes against your natural instinct. Make yourself look big, shout loudly, and throw something in the coyote's direction. Be persistent and continue these scare tactics until they move away. Then, you should move away slowly, always facing the coyote.

High-frequency bird repellent devices are effective at driving away birds, which is their intended purpose. However, these devices also tend to have unintended negative consequences. For example, if you or your neighbors own pets, the high-pitched noise emitted by these electronic devices will cause them distress and may even make them aggressive.
