"The project was handled very professionally from start to finish. Communication from the company was always timely and clear. Alan’s attention to detail made for a great outcome. In addition to the retaining wall, Alan spruced up the old gravel walkways in front of the new wall. We are thrilled with the result and recommend Alan and Landmark Design Landscaping without reservation."

Customers say: True professional

"Bryan did a great job at our sink install. We had a badly stained Corian sink that he was able to cut out and replace with a one bowl stainless style. We were able to then avoid having to replace the entire counter. He ran into a snafu with the cabinet but worked through it to the end!! Communication was great. Thank you!!!"

"Ado is a real professional. He and his team did an excellent job. Work was all quality and done on time. He applied laminate counter tops and stone backsplash. Makes the kitchen look much more modern. I was lucky to find him! I am planning on installation vinyl floor planks in 3 rooms and Ado has agreed to take care of that for me also! He works hard and his work is reasonable."

"We're having our deck replaced, and we discovered a decent amount of water damage below our backdoor and one window when the old deck was removed. Geo came out and gave us a estimate, which we thought was fair, and had his team come out to make the repairs. He did everything he said he would, and completed the job much more quickly than we could have hoped."

"Always on time. Let us know every step of the way of what they were doing. Could not tell that they had been here every day they cleaned up after their self like they had never been here. Would highly recommend and would use them again. We could not be happier with the remodel on our bathroom with our new tile and floors."

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

The best bathroom floor tiles are strong enough to withstand the weight of a clawfoot tub. However, professional tile installation is essential. If the tiles are uneven or improperly fixed, they may crack under the pressure. Be careful when installing the tub—if it drops or drags on the tiles, it could easily cause scratches or cracks.

The difference between floor and wall tiles is that floor tiles generally have higher strength and porosity ratings than wall tiles. Wall tiles are typically weaker and more likely to crack or become damaged under sustained pressure like high foot traffic.

For this reason, avoid using wall tiles on floors and vice versa.

In some cases, granite tiles can be installed over existing flooring if the surface is level, stable, and free of moisture issues. However, removing old flooring is often recommended to ensure a secure and long-lasting installation, as well as to avoid height differences at thresholds. Consult with your flooring pro to determine the best approach based on your specific situation.

When working on your bathroom floor tiling, you should always tile the floor first and then refit the toilet afterward. This has both practical and visual advantages—the tile will have a better seal, and the installation will look cleaner.

On the other hand, when you try to cut the tiles to fit around the toilet, you’re putting yourself at a disadvantage. It’s a lot more work, it’s hard to be precise, and mistakes or miscalculations can lead to future moisture damage to the tiling, grout, and subfloor.

Updating your backsplash without removing the tile is possible in a couple of different ways. First, you can remove the old grout and replace it with new grout to give your backsplash a fresh look. You can also change the grout color, which can have a surprisingly large impact on the final appearance of the backsplash. Finally, you can paint the original tile to totally change the look of the backsplash without removing it.
