"Paul and his crew installed a new backsplash in my remodeled kitchen and did a great job. He and his crew the completely remodeled two bathrooms, gutting all plumbing, tile, flooring and They also remodeled two complete bathroom renovations. The projects included design, plumbing electrical . They did a great job designing and implementing the new bathrooms. They remained on budget, did quality design and installation. They helped me in a number of ways during the projects as I live alone and am partially disabled. I highly recommend Simple Life Remodeling for any of your home improvement projects."

"My installer, Jose, was amazing! He was so accommodating to fit my schedule in a short timeframe. Jose was professional and very knowledgeable about installing tile. He installed my tile quickly and was very clean while working. I would definitely recommend Jose for tile work. Jose is also a great handyman because he also installed my TV on the wall which was difficult to do because the wall was covered in porcelain tile. THANK YOU, JOSE!! YOU ARE AMAZING!!!"

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

Using caulk is one of the simplest and most recommended methods to finish glass tile edges. It creates an elegant seam between the glass tile and the adjacent area, along with a waterproof seal. With this method, you want to use a caulk color that matches the grout and, along with the grout, compliments the tile. Make sure the caulk line is smooth and even. Alternatively, you can use a bullnose or tile trimming to edge, however, that will also require caulk to seal.

Yes, you can use paint if you want to refresh your tile countertops. However, you must be mindful of the type of paint you use. Look for options explicitly created for tile that are also waterproof and durable. Over time, the paint will chip, so this is not considered a long-term solution for busy kitchens.

For professional labor and materials, it would cost between $6,000 and $28,000 to install 1,000 square feet of Saltillo tile flooring. If that’s out of your budget, you could consider laying the tiles yourself or choosing a less expensive type of flooring. For example, vinyl flooring costs just $2 to $7 per square foot, so for a 1,000-square-foot space, you’d pay $2,000 to $7,000.

There are a few different tools you can use to score tiles. Manual tile cutters or tile scribes work well for scoring in straight lines. Tile nippers are one of the best options for scoring because they can make small and irregular cuts that larger tools may not be able to handle.

Tile installation can be expensive because it requires more time and labor to install than many other materials. For example, laminate flooring can click and lock into place, and carpet comes in large rolls that you can secure to the floor. On the other hand, tiles need to be cut, laid individually, grouted, and left to cure.
