"My wife and I recently purchased a new home. We wanted to get the carpets cleaned throughout the entire house prior to moving in. Zerorez is one of several companies rated very highly on Angie's List and touted on the radio, but it was the recommendation of a friend/co-worker that led us to select the company. They stated they would be at my place between 8-10am on a Friday. I received a call exactly at 8am saying they were on their way. They arrived within 30 minutes of that. Chris, the gentleman who did the actual carpet cleaning, was very polite and informative, and was very comfortable sharing details about what he was doing and why as he went along. He also provided several pieces of helpful knowledge for general carpet maintenance. All told, he was there for approximately 3.5 hours (very thorough). We were very pleased with his efforts and the end result. There were several orange/yellow stains on the carpet that he couldn't get out, but it wasn't for a lack of trying. I watched his perseverance in trying to remove stubborn stains. Zerorez was willing to apply multiple bulk room discounts and a military discount, so I felt the price we paid was very reasonable. Overall we were exceptionally happy with the service, and we would definitely recommend them to a friend and use them again."

"He didn't find anything wrong with the unit and wants us to call him back if we notice the noise again. At this time we have the unit turned off due to the heat isn't needed at this time, and it isn't hot enough for the air."

"They arrived right on time and were the most professional, careful, and considerate group of insulation professionals I could have asked for! They performed all work exactly as quoted and explained everything as they progressed. I especially loved how careful they were with our belongings and covered everything and every stairway with plastic from start to finish. When finished, they cleaned up so well you would never know they were in your house if you didn't see the new insulation! I would highly recommend this company to anyone needing insulation professionals that tell you exactly what they are going to do, doing exactly what they said they were going to do, and cleaning up so well you will be amazed! 100% satisfied customer!!!"

"We use Sharp & Long for heating and cooling and AC. They are out of Lee's Summit. We get our every 6 months stuff done with them. I think it is like 189 dollars every year which is for the AC and furnace. It has been a while. They are reliable."

"

They did a wonderful job. I think Billy is the owner. They are very nice guys. Everybody else want us to replace the whole furnace and that was a brand new furnace and they didn't know that the furnace was about two to three years old. The guy who put it in died and they told us we needed a new furnace, new recoil and all the stuff, and Billy came out and worked on it. I think it was $200 to $300 to replace the circuit board in it and had been working great. We had him come out here to do our yearly maintenance on our air conditioner.

Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

Yes. Getting a whole-house dehumidifier can help you save money on energy bills. How? Your home automatically feels cooler when there’s less humidity in the air (“It’s the humidity that gets ya!” is such a true statement). This means that you won’t need to run your AC as much as you would if you had all that extra humidity in your home.

If your central AC is not blowing cold air, you should try resetting the system. Many systems have a reset button. Make sure your thermostat is off, then turn off the circuit breaker that powers your AC. Hold the reset button for three to five seconds, then turn the circuit back on. Set your thermostat to cool and choose a temperature cooler than the room. Your system should turn on quickly.

At a minimum, an HVAC system should be serviced once per year. However, a twice-a-year service schedule—once in the spring for the cooling system and once in the fall for the heating system—is often recommended, especially for older systems, heat pumps, or in climates with extreme temperatures. Regular service, which includes inspection, cleaning, and maintenance, ensures the system runs efficiently, helps prevent costly breakdowns during peak seasons, and can extend the unit's lifespan. You can also schedule a service if you notice issues like poor performance or strange noises.

You can protect your air conditioner in the winter by turning off the power at the thermostat and performing routine HVAC maintenance in the spring. Regular maintenance, cleaning, and repair of your AC unit helps protect it and extend its life span. If you have a window AC unit, remove it from the window and store it in a dry place during the winter. Window units cannot withstand freezing temperatures. Keeping them in your window also allows cold air to seep into your home.

You may never need an AC recharge if there are no leaks. However, if your AC unit has a leak that cannot be patched appropriately, you’ll need an AC recharge every time the freon level drops low enough that it disrupts your system—this could be once every two to three years. It all depends on the size and frequency of the leak.
