"Eric and John did plumbing work at my home a month ago, and I was happy to see their familiar faces arrive to replace our broken bathroom sink. I had purchased a replacement sink that was ready for installation. The cracked sink was removed and the new sink installed. Eric quoted the job before the work was done so I had no surprise costs upon completion. Because I had previously purchased Aquarius’ annual plumbing repair plan, I was able to save on the service fee and saved an additional 15% on the job. Once again, I was impressed with Eric and John’s professionalism and attention to detail. The replacement is installed better than the original had been by my previous plumbing company."

"I left a message the day before because a kitchen sink had no water. They called at 8:00 am and gave me hints to get the water flowing. Fans and heat. At 1:00 pm the room was flooding. I shut off the water to the house. I called and the plumber. They arrived at 3:30. The pipes were repaired by 5:00. Great service. I will call them whenever I need a plumber."

"We had them replace plumbing fixtures in our bathroom remodel and install in-line water heater to provide point of use hot water to a distant bathroom from our water heater. In addition, they replaced a deteriorating concrete laundry tub and replaced a shut-off valve for an outdoor water faucet that was leaking."

"These folks are awesome! From start to finish, they were pleasant, helpful, considerate, and knowledgeable. I contacted them this morning, and by 3, I had a new water heater (and it was a difficult installation, let me tell you). Also Erik took the time to figure out the best and least expensive option. He deserves a medal, because he saved me thousands (did I mention it was a difficult installation?) Now I won't use anyone else for my plumbing needs. Thank you all!"

"I spend very little time in my unfinished basement because it's damp.  When I noticed cracks in a wall - I contacted my home inspector who recommended getting an opinion from GGardner.  Randy Gardner came, checked things out and explained in terms that I could understand.  He offered a discount because of the two projects, and there was a coupon on the Angie's List website.  His crew was able to do the work of doing concrete reinforcement of the wall at risk, adding a buttress wall, and install drain tile system with a sump pump - the next week, when I was conveniently off work.  They came on time, got the job done and cleaned up nicely afterwards.  Randy was on site the whole time too.  While I haven't been through the soggy spring season yet, I'm expecting this to be extremely helpful - and just might finish the basement sometime.  I would definitely recommend this contractor."

"We bought this property last year and this was our first inspection-David Kottke did a great job explaining to us everything we have going on. We inquired about a battery back up on our sump pump and he was able to install it on the spot! Great work!"

Sump Pump Installation questions, answered by experts

A sewage ejector pump is necessary if you have any plumbing fixtures, such as a bathroom, laundry room, or sink, located below the level of your home's main sewer line. Standard plumbing relies on gravity to drain wastewater and solid waste into the municipal sewer system or a septic tank. For fixtures below this level, like those in a basement, gravity cannot move the waste upward. The ejector pump provides the force needed to pump the sewage up to the main line. Without one, wastewater from below-ground fixtures would back up, potentially causing a sewage overflow and flooding. If all of your plumbing is on the main floor or higher, gravity is sufficient and an ejector pump is not needed.

The difference between an ejector pump and a sump pump lies in their purpose and design—an ejector pump functions to remove liquid gray water and soft solid sewage waste from your home. If you have a laundry room or bathroom in your basement, an ejector pump for your sewage tank prevents sewage from backing up in your washing machine or bathroom’s drains.

A sump pump is designed to remove excess groundwater that may enter your home, either due to flooding or periods of heavy rain.

If your sump pump isn’t engaging, it might be clogged with dirt and debris. Check to see if the fitting lid is loose and has been letting debris in. Next, check the float and make sure it’s not obstructed by rust or gunk, which results from insufficient maintenance. Tangled wires or damaged switching systems can also stop your sump pump from engaging.

Sump pumps prevent basement flooding, reduce humidity, and protect against water damage.

DIY is possible for simple repairs. Professional services ensure proper diagnostics and long-term reliability.
